How do you upload a picture,(like,say,of a bad movie ad) to my post?Say I'm making a little movie review for SCARS of DRACULA,and would like to illusrate it with a ad for the movie.How I doit?
You need to have the image on a host - I don't think there is a way to upload the image to the Bad Movies server. Just for the record, it is considered very poor netiquette to 'hotlink' to an image on a third party server without them knowing/approving (it costs them bandwidth for page views to web sites other than their own; some consider this theft).
If you don't have the permission of the host of the image file on the 'Net, and if YOU own the image (or it is public domain, etc), you can upload it to one of a number of free image hosting services. Whether you do this or have the permission of someone already hosting the image, you can put it in a post by enclosing the url to the image file between the [ img ] and [ /img ] tags (remove spaces).
Like So: [ img ]http://www.badmovies.org/bbs/bbslogo.gif[ /img ] renders as:
(http://www.badmovies.org/bbs/bbslogo.gif)
Final Hint: When posting an image or hyperlink, always use the "Preview" option to make sure your message renders the way you want.
Ulthar forgot to mention the names of the image hosting sites.
I use www.imageshack.us (http://www.imageshack.us/)
There's also Photobucket but I've never used it before.
With Imageshack, just browse for the pic that's saved on your computer that you want and click the button that says, host it!
You'll also want to check the box that says, remove size/resolution bar from thumbnail?
(for example, I used a pic of a cat with a gun)
Then a new page will pop up with several different URL's for either Thumbnails or Hotlinks.
Copy the URL that says, Hotlink for forums (1)
That's the one youll need for the Badmovies.org phorum
Then simply paste it here on this board in the body of your message and this is what you get:

I'm hopeless.I went to imageshack,signed in uploaded apic,did all the stuff...but the sending the image is got me all screwy. I gotta find a geek.
