Check out the trailer for the new enhanced HD Star Trek episodes, then check your local listings (this is on broadcast tv , not cable) for times this weekend. The first episode to be shown is "Balance of Terror".

Sorry guys, I'm just a bit geeked over this.
Oh WOW!
These new HD episodes are going to be aired on TV right?
I also assume that they'll be re-released on HD-DVD and/or Blu-Ray.
All I can say is SWEET!
I've seen every TOS episode except for one or two of them.
I have two VHS tapes full of episodes that were recorded circa 1986-87...some with the old commercials.
Ever watch a Pizza Hut or DoubleMint Gum commercial from 1986?
Or...remember those old Sports Illustrated ads where they throw in a free radio with your subscription?
So far, my favorite episode is a tie between "Charlie X (http://www.startrek.com/startrek/view/series/TOS/episode/68676.html) and "Who Mourns For Adonais? (http://www.startrek.com/startrek/view/library/episodes/TOS/detail/68726.html)"
I used to hate it...but now that I've watched it a few times, I'd say the episode with Apollo is my favorite...

Believe it or not this looks interesting. I don't like to see them tamper with something like this, but what they showed looked good. So CBS is going to show it? What time and day?
It is in weekend broadcast syndication, so it will shown sometime over the weekend on local stations in the time slot Enterprise was showing in (I believe most of them are now defunct UPN stations), so you need to check the local station schedules. Here in Little Rock it is showing at 9:00pm on Sunday.
They are supposed to finish and broadcast about 35 episodes this season.
Here's a link to the station (and times) list that will be playing the new HD Star Trek episodes.

Check out the picture of Matt Damon as Kirk. Is that Affleck as Spock?
Caught "Balance of Terror" last night and I have to say that they did a really great job on cleaning up those old episodes. The picture quality is fantastic.
As far as the CG effects, they are good looking and do not intrude on the story. If anyone bothered to read the interview with the guys doing it, you will know that they did not add anything, they simply reproduced what was there. The ships now move smoothly through space and have a lot more detail than the originals. In fact, I think without the redone fx shots, the old fx would detract from how sweet the rest of the show now looks.
Didn't recognize any of the listed channels, but I will catch them somewhere. Thanks for the update Trek Geezer.
