Title: DVD finds
Post by: trekgeezer on September 16, 2006, 12:19:05 PM
I made a movie patrol over at Big Lots yesterday and came up with a couple good ones (I hope).

I got a 10 movie pack called "Gore and More!" for $4 which includes the following:

Bad Taste (I've wanted to see this for quite a while)
The Bloody Brood
Drive-in Massacre
Don't Look in the Basement
Driller Killer
Night Train to Terror
The Pyx
Scream Bloody Murder
Werewolf in a Girl's Dormitory
The Werewolf vs. The Vampire Women

I also picked  up "At Last the 1948 Show", the BBC series which preceded an inspired Monty Python. It stars John Cleese, Graham Chapman, and Marty Feldman. Paid $2.99 for this one. Being a Python fan I think I'll like this one.

Pretty good pickins, they had some more 10 packs with different themes. The only thing I hate about the multi-movie packs is that there is a lot or redundency with stuff I already have.

I'll let you know how it goes when I get to watch them. Right now I'm alternating between watching Briscoe County Jr. and Babylon 5.

DONT LOOK in the BASEMENT is one of my old time favorite "nuts running the nut house" movies, especially the babbling old lady. This is a real laff out loud outrageous piece of 70's classic cheese.A true classic for all time!
I like The WEREWOLF vs the VAMPIRE WOMAN as well. Paul Naschy is a real savage werewolf, and the vampire chicks are sexy!
DRIVE IN MASSACRE is pretty lame.
BAD TASTE is GREAT! Who knew the director of this would become go on to do Lord of the Rings? Of course Scorsese and Coppalla started with Corman,so....

Hehe!...movie patrol
I picture you getting into full camoflauge gear, face painted, armed with grenades & assault rifles and going into various stores...not to hurt anyone, but to find movies.
Crawling on your belly as if under fire while headed towards the electronics & video section while people push their shopping carts past you looking at you funny.
Hehe!

That's a pretty sweet deal for only $4.00!

All of those movies except THE PYX and WEREWOLF IN A GIRL'S DORMITORY are also in one or more of the 50 movie packs that I bought (from Mill Creek / Treeline).  Aren't these cheapo multi-movie sets great?

This ten movie pack is from Mill Creek. I think some of my other cheapo DVDs are from them also.

Mill Creek basically divides the movies in its 50 movie packs into smaller 20, 10, 4, and 2 movie packs.  Check out the Mill Creek website when you have a chance.  It's at www.millcreekent.net
