Iv'e only read about EL TOPO in an old Castle of Frankenstien magazine...an interview with the director...he was very esoteric and vague...still, I want to see it,based on it's rep...
RACE WITH the DEVIL-I saw this at the Strand when I was a kid. It's basiclly an action movie with a townfull of Satanist hillbillys chasing Peter Fonda and Warren Oates in an RV . But it's got dirt bikes and a rattle snake in a speeding RV!
Faster p***ycat,KILL KILL!-I'm almost ashamed to admit I have NOT seen this movie,But it is also on my list of MUST sees!
the ASTOUNDING SHE MONSTER-I actually SAW this movie as a kid, bought it on video as an adult, and still LOVE it...and I DON'T KNOW WHY!!! Sign of a true Z-movie freak.

I've raved about "El Topo" on this board before & won't beat it to death --
Suffice to say, try to dig it on its own merits -- it is,after all, in some respects nothing more than another spaghetti Western, and overhype can kill just about any experience --
Having said that, I'll now do a complete about-face and say that its unexpected images are found in no other films I've ever seen -- It's as if Salvador Dali decided to direct a Western.  Plus it retells several classic Buddhist Parables -- not a claim many low-budget spaghetti Westerns can make . . .
Some of us do a thing called "Cheese Fest" out here, and we usually always play the racing scene in the desert from Faster p***ycat --
