I am looking for sites to add to a link page of mine. What I am doing is placing a banner called the wormhole at the top of my site Zhorkow's CargoShip (http://zhorkow.com/). When a visitor clicks on the link, they will be taken to a page to be treated to a cheesy space travel effect, then they will end up at a random site. Of course, I need sites to add to the list of random sites (BadMovies is already in the list).
If you have a site dealing with movies, games, or any other entertainment or fun subject, or if you think it would be a good addition, post a link in this thread so I can add it to the wormhole.
Presently there is a banner at the top of the page, but it will be replaced by the wormhole banner shortly.
Stick figure fighting:

And, the mandatory, "All your base are belong to us:"

In the same vein as Stick Figure fights is Stickman Murder Mystery Games:

Then there is The House on Ghost Hill:

Plus, in the grand tradition of shameless self-promotion, and inspired greatly by Andrew's site, is Shadow's B-Movie Graveyard:

Cool. Just added the sites. The Wormhole is now uploaded and active. The banner is at the top of the site. I now have 11 sites in the Wormhole and will take more. I also added Rogue Cinema from your sig Shadowfrye.
Coolness!!
The Movie Deaths Database please! Also, if you are on a stick kick, you may like Stick Figure Death Theatre.

The Stick Figure Death Theatre has been added. I'm sorry, but I have to say no to the Movie Deaths Database. I will link that one later on my portal.

A great concept. I like the site, but it would take me forever to navigate a site fully in Flash using a dial-up connection. My apologies; I should have stated that I don't want to link sites which are primarily for broadband users.
I started a new blog awhile ago, thinking of maybe a third.

I think it's been over a year since I posted here. Been lurking all along.

When I saw that you had posted, it had me wondering where you had been all this time. Welcome back among the living you lurker. :tongueout:

I now have 21 sites in the wormhole and would like to thank those who contributed, whether I used your recommendations or not. Of course, I am still looking for sites to add, so any additional recommendations would be appreciated.
For those sites I did not use, or for anybody who would like to post a link to their site/sites, you can add a link to my new free links page, Zhorkow's CargoLinks (http://www.quickregister.net/cgi-bin/freeserve/myffa.cgi?member=zhorkow), which I have just added to the site.

Yes, I am resurrecting this thread to both update the contents of the wormhole and, being that there are more members on the board now, to request more links.
The most recent addition to the wormhole is The B-Movie Film Vault.
The wormhole has the following links at present:

The type of sites I am looking for is just simply ones that are fun, entertaining, or offbeat in a fun way. I do want to keep it family friendly, not that I am opposed to non-family friendly sites (I have several of my own) but I am randomly sending someone to a site and I have to take responsibility in making certain they are sites anyone can visit.
Another requirement for sites is to be dial-up friendly (a.k.a. no Flash heavy sites or ridiculously heavy blogs). Since I check out all sites before I add them, please don't send me to something that's going to crash my browser.
Don't be shy about submitting your own personal site. If it looks entertaining, no matter how large or small it is, I may well include it.
If anyone has any science fiction oriented sites, that would be appreciated; after all, the CargoShip does have a space theme. :tongueout:
TRy this...there are all kind of off links off here, dealing with old cookbooks.

Now that is an example of truly having too much time on one's hands. It has been added.
I love the graphics he picks.
Hey Menard, thanks for adding my site to the portal. (Any chance of just changing it to www.bmoviefilmvault.com though?) Here's a fun lil' site that I used to frequent a lot:
www.videogamedc.com
This guy has made some pretty fun flash cartoons with nintendo characters. His best work is definitely the "Rise of the Mushroom Kingdom" series. Also, www.newgrounds.com has a good share of cool flash toons and whatnot. And how about www.chucknorrisfacts.com? LOL!
Thanks again for the link. :teddyr:
Sorry about the delay in replying Jordan. If you want me to change the url for your site, I will do that. The main reason I had selected the no-frames page was just to send someone to an attention grabbing page. The link itself won't be crawlable as the wormhole is set for no index/no follow; it's a redirect page for novelty reasons, so it wouldn't help me to get it listed as it would just take visitors somewhere else and most likely get the search engines a little PO'ed at me.
With regard to the sites you suggested:
http://www.videogamedc.com/ - Uh...no; popups and they try to get you to install a Program called Zango to view the site.
http://www.newgrounds.com/ - Close, but no. A little on the heavy load side for what I am looking for. Having quite a few adult games linked right off the front page doesn't help either.
http://www.chucknorrisfacts.com/ - Maybe. A little on the commercial side for me (hey, they are there to sell t-shirts) but still pretty funny. Besides, I am a Walker: Texas Danger...I mean Ranger fan. Thank you for pointing out this link.
I have had to remove some sites from the wormhole due to such things as popups having been added or multimedia, especially flash, having been added as an onload event.
If someone has any more sites they would like to suggest, please do.
The only requirements are:
- Needs to be dial-up friendly
- No popups or redirects
- No porn or majority adult content sites
- No extreme fighting or otherwise excessively violent or bloody sites
- No gambling sites
- The site must be fun
I only put restrictions on the types of sites, other than for dial-up access, because I am sending someone to another site completely at random. Due to that, I need links to sites which anybody should be able to access.

Somewhat similar to the Lileks page Ed posted, but focused on comic book art.
The Gallery is filled with some hilarious examples of bizarre (mainly DC) comic book art, but the main focus of the site is to provide examples that prove conclusively "Superman is a Dick".

"Everything's Better With Monkeys" is a personal favorite, and "Suffering Sappho!" holds a certain appeal.
