FEAST (2005) (http://imdb.com/title/tt0426459/) - Monsters out in the desert are looking for a meal at an isolated bar with about 15 people inside. It's like who's going to survive kind of film with lots of our kind of action, characters, and dialogue. The movie moves fast with the relentless efforts to hold down the fort and possibly escape. Really enjoyed this one. It's lots of fun. Trying to give you a feel for this by saying that it is kinda like DUSK TILL DAWN and EVIL DEAD put together only with monsters.

Thanks to Trek Geezer and Odinn7's previous post I finally was able to get a hold of this film at Blockbuster as it was gone everytime I entered the store.

Glad to hear you liked it Scott...It was definitely a fun movie.

I picked motivational speaker in your poll as he was played by Henry Rollins and I thought he played him as such a great character.

The motivational speaker was a great character. Added a lot to the film.

How did they kill the motivational speaker?
It didn't show much for his death scene.
I remember that two of the monsters were hauling him toward the bar.
Did they ram his head through the wall?

Wouldn't want to spoil it for you ASH (a.k.a. ASHTHECAT). You might want to rent FEAST tonight just in time for your Thanksgiving Feast.  :lookingup:

Just because they used his head as a batteriing ram dosn't mean he died.  :smile:

By the way does anyone know if this is straight to video or was there a theater release?

Oh...I've already seen the movie.
It's just that Rollins' death scene was the most vague.

Your right ASH, they didn't actually show what happened to him, but it's assumed that he died. He'll probably pop up in a sequel.  :smile:

I'm not sure sure if it was a theatrical release or straight to video, around here ( Los Angeles) it was advertised like a theatrical release but I've only seen it at Blockbuster, I must say I  agree, 9 out of 10, its a good movie, worth watching. :thumbup: :thumbup:

It was a "Midnight Movies" theatrical release for exactly one night in select cities....freakin Dallas...

Anyway, I picked Henry because...it's Henry.  Poor, beloved battering ram Henry.....in his cute little pink sweatpants. 

I wish Henry surivied. If it was his old Black Flag days he would beat the crap out of those monsters Hardcore style  :teddyr:

A second would be the Punk girl. I really felt sorry for her.

Considering her status at the moment the jury-rigged explosives blew, I would say that death was a blessing. 

I finallly saw the movie today on pay-per-view. My son and I loved it. I have to say the onscreen character descriptions were an innovative way to get the character development out of the way without eating up expensive film time (they only had 3.5 mil to shoot with).

I remembered a lot from the Project Greenlight show, so I knew what was going to happen in a couple of scene (the eyeball scene really stood out). I also remember the actress playing Honey Pie complaining about the fake blood burning her eyes.

Overall, this was great entertainment.

Actually, they did show Rollins death, just not nearly as graphically as the others... but I have heard from other people that some characters, namely "Vet", just seemed to disappear without explanation. In the copy I have, Vet's death is pretty obvious.

It's just that the pacing and camerawork is so rapid fire, and deaths are so quick, that it's easy to loise track. I'm not sure how many different cuts are floating around on DVD.

I think just one.  There's only legitimate release anyway, as far as I know.

That said, I found the movie quite entertaining.  I'll probably buy it when it drops down to the $10 range.

Personally, I wanted the sleazebag guy (was he the owner?  I think so.  Saw it a while ago) to live. 

I thought that Feast could have been a much more memorable movie if a much more accomplished director had gotten ahold of the script.

Some of the death scenes were shot in such a confusing & chaotic manner (mainly using hand held cameras) that I actually had to slo-mo the DVD a few times to actually get a good look at what happened.
