I've eagerly been anticipating the US theatrical release of "The Host," Korea's latest monster movie that's been getting rave reviews from critics across the globe! Sadly the wait has been extended until next March. Hopefully the film will see a fairly wide release so that none of us have to drive several hours out of our way to view this extremely cool-looking film. Anyone else psyched about this flick?! :buggedout:

Raises handYeah, me. It looks great. Then again, if it has a monster in it, I'll watch it. :teddyr:
Looks interesting.........here's the U.S. trailer on Youtube.

It does look interesting, but the youtube trailer is not working for me. An international teaser trailer link I found via the IMDB is working. Look for a glimpse at the very end:

This was screening at a chinese-type cinema in the city earlier in the year [I think] and I am annoyed I missed the screenings. But I've heard good things and it looks like a blast!
Liked what I saw of the human element of the trailer. A little concerned about the CGI monster.
Great news for any curious folks that don't want to wait until March, Region 0 HONG KONG discs are now all over E-Bay! I just ordered two of them (one's a gift, the other's a gift to ME) and the film is presented in Widescreen with English subtitles (probably poor subs, but I don't care!). For only $4.99 - $9.99 (with two different DVD covers), this is worth buying methinks. :teddyr:
Just watched the "Host" (got a Region 0 DVD of Ebay that boasts beautiful picture and sound, plus comes in a gorgeous case with a slipcover... oh and the subtitles are actually decent! No dubtitles and no half-assed dubbing to read here folks!) and I was very impressed with it. I believe Scott was worried about the CGI in the film, but have no fear, the CGI is up to par with American standards (something that Yonggary and Garuda failed to do) and it's a very intriguing film. I'm still trying to figure out how a frontal lobotomy turns a fairly retarded man back to normal though. ;-) Excellent movie all around, SEE IT!!!!!

Hmm. I'm curious if these are legit discs. I have my doubts. I might pick it up though.
Jim, the disc seems legit enough. I've had my share of bootleg DVD-Rs and such in the past, but this appears to be a legit DVD release. I got it from this guy on Ebay: http://myworld.ebay.com/greatdeal2688
He actually dropped the price on the disc (Bastard!!!!) so now it's even more worth getting! :teddyr:

I should show you my House of Flying Daggers Chinese bootleg (a gift from before it came out in theaters in the US). Comes in a high quality slip sleeve, and is pressed with a multitude of extra features.
It's very difficult to tell with the better Asian bootlegs. Either way though, you've got a good quality copy of the movie, right?
Think I'll pick it up soon.
Fantastic! Let me know if you get it and what you think of the film. I'm going to watch it with my best friend tomorrow, he wanted to see it after I wouldn't shut up about it!
