Last night I sat through Maniac Cop 3. I'd watched the first two only because Bruce "The Man" Campbell was in them. Other than that, they're pretty sub-par slashers. Part 3 is actually a little better, if only because it's surprisingly violent. But then, as the film climaxes, out of nowhere, comes one of the best action sequences I've seen in a long time. Our hero (Robert Davi) and his lady friend are in an ambulence when who should appear but Maniac Cop, completely ablaze driving a squad car. This chase goes on for about six minutes, with other cars crashing around all over. The amazing thing is Maniac Cop is on fire the whole time. That stuntguy must have a death wish. You just don't usually see that kind of effort in low-budget flicks like this.
Yeah I watched it last weekend. We fastforwarded all the talking scenes and it clocked in about an hour. And yet we still fully understoon the whole movie. Other than that it was cool. Although I don't think it was surprisingly violent. I've seen the first one, and I'm renting the second this weekend. I heard the second had an awesome shoot out (the one they flashbacked to in the third.) Anyway

The first one was cool, but 2 and 3 just don't hold up. Although part 2 had a moment or two that was kinda cool.
