Title: Skaboi's avatar..?
Post by: daveblackeye15 on December 20, 2006, 09:44:08 PM
Skaboi your avatar looks like a movie poster (back when they put 'oomph' in them) may I ask what movie it is? I can't make it out but it looks like a slasher.

Second time I've been asked today, actually.

1985's "The Mutilator" AKA "Fall Break"

Great no budget slasher.

My little bit of text below the Avatar is the film's tagline.

They don't make em like they used to.

Yea, I was trying to figure that out a few days ago also. It looked like BLOOD HOOK which is distributed by Troma films. By the way BLOOD HOOK is one Troma film that I liked.

I remember seeing The Mutilator in video stores back in the 80's and smirking at that great tagline. The sad thing is, I never got around to renting it and to this day I have never seen it.  :bluesad:

I do highly recommend it.  It's badly acted, uneven in tone, and downright nasty when it wants to be.

I've considered getting in touch with Andrew and sending him a copy.  I don't know if he'd have time to do a proper review though.

How 'bout it Andrew?

The shame here is that I know I had this movie in my collection, but cannon locate it.  Probably a casualty from the horrible military move we did about three years back.  They lost several of our boxes and even a lawnmower, along with breaking a number of things, including my table saw.  I know that they lost two boxes of my laserdiscs, but have come to suspect that a box of VHS was also lost.

In any case, hmmmm - okay, I will do this one.  Let me try a few haunts to pick up a copy.  I already see one on Ebay.

Not to spiral this offtopic, but I just have to ask...  Any idea how large your collection is?

Thanks Andrew!

I bought both copies that I own from Ebay.  I rented it in a Mom&Pop video store years ago and ended up buying both a VHS and DVD copy from Ebay.

Can't wait for the review on this one!

Yeah, Its' one of not so many slashers, which I enjoyed [In fact, I liked only two of this gengre. Eventually 3 if we consider "Slashers" as slasher ^^]. Ending is very obvious, bad acting... I recommend it

My best guess is around 3000 movies at present, but my VHS are not stored on shelves like they used to be, so counting them is difficult.

I'm a bit of a completist when it comes to films that I love.  I originally bought a VHS copy of the film from Ebay about 4 years ago or so.  It was quite graphic, but I had heard that there was a possibility that it was cut.  So, about a year ago I went searching on Ebay for an uncut DVD version of it.  I rather like having the DVD copy of it.  I don't use my VHS much anymore and it saves me a lot of hassle.  Come to find out, the uncut DVDs are the exact same as the VHS that I previously owned.

Oh well.
