IDAHO TRANSFER (1973) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0071647/) - Peter Fonda directs this lost gem about time travel. The whole film appears to be filmed at Craters of the Moon National Park in Idaho. There is this government project facility doing experiments. The scientist working there are not telling the government their findings as they have gone into the future. For some reason they fix on 56 years into the future and for some reason the government shuts down the program and the young scientist quickly use the device to go into into the future and they find that the device has stopped working at the other end, so they can't get back. The machine is kinda neat and simple and you must take metalic objects off and place them in a special compartment before operating the machine. Kinda like going through todays airport security. While in the future they try to get to Portland, Oregon to see if anyone is still alive. Along the way they find some deaf people who have some mental handicaps, but that's about all they find. They never explain what happened to mankind, but you kinda get the feeling of some catastrophy probably nuclear. The ending is unclear, but interesting never the less, as the one woman from the group manages to get the device operating and later goes even farther into the future to help her friends. The ending is weird.

 (7 out of 10 Stars) This film is just different. Seek it out.
