I was just sitting down to watch "The Sentinel".
I borrowed it from my parents because they said it was pretty good.
Before I watch it, I wanted to ask you all...
What's your favorite Michael Douglas film?
For me, it was a close tie between "The Game" and "Falling Down".
I chose Falling Down.

His performance in that movie was superb!
Especially in the WhammyBurger scene...
"Why am I calling you by your first names? I don't even know you. I still call my boss "Mister", and I've been working for him for seven years, but all of a sudden I walk in here and I'm calling you Rick and Sheila like we're in some kind of AA meeting... I don't want to be your buddy, Rick. I just want some breakfast."

"The trigger...it's sensitive!"
I loved how his weapons progressed and became more lethal throughout the movie.
He went from a baseball bat to a knife to a gym bag full of guns to a bazooka!
How about you?
What's your favorite Michael Douglas movie?
I chose WALL STREET, but it was a toss-up among several for me. I also really like ROMANCING THE STONE and a few others. THE SENTINEL was surpisingly good to me, and I had not heard of it when I queued it up on Netflix.
Falling down was good, but Basic Instinct was great.
I chosee FALLING DOWN as well.Because I've always wanted to run rampant with a gun. :buggedout:
By the way, Ash,is that a lime peel on your head?!
Black Rain got my vote. Very dark fish out of water story with a main characters who is a crooked cop. He has his own kind of honor, but it's as much to do with his ego. Usually I hate Ugly American stories, but this one I like.
Also a fan of Wonder Boys, Romancing the Stone, The Game (but you can only enjoy it fully once). I enjoy The Ghost and the Darkness, even got a free poster from the local comic store once, an enjoyable time waster.
I went with Romancing the Stone, but I liked Jewel of the Nile as well. Falling Down was pretty good too, but not something I'd ever watch a second time.
Wall Street, I think. (Narrowly edging out The Game.) He was just so gloriously mercenary...so gloriously 80s...in that movie.
FALLING DOWN is definately a very good film as is WALL STREET, but my favorite and most fun film of Micheal Douglass is ROMANCING THE STONE. It depends on your mood, but over all I pick ROMANCING THE STONE.
War of the Roses.
Not to be weird, but my personal favorite of this guy is "Adam At 6 A.M." I watched this thing three times back in the late 70's and early 80's on a local channel in Tulsa. Of course, at the time, I thought William Goldman's early novels were the greatest thing since sliced ham and wanted to own every Billy Joel album he ever made, so my taste might be a wee bit suspect.
