Nice list.  I have some of these in various 50 movie packs from Mill Creek / Treeline Films.

Yea, I must have about 250 $1 cheapy DVD's on my shelve yet to be viewed. I'm picking them up faster than I can watch them.

Great googly-moogly.  How is the quality on those?  I imagine that if it is equal to a circa 80's VHS, they are probably easily worth the money.  I have a couple of the Brentwood sets that are 50 movies for 15 bucks.  Sometimes, the films on them are at least interesting and I appreciate being able to see them at all.

I've picked up several of the same titles (especially the Martial Arts films) from dollar stores. Sure the quality is generally bad on them but what do you expect at those prices? Still had loads of fun watching a lot of those but then Martial Arts films ar perhaps the style of film of which I'm least picky, as long as the movie is from before when the wire work stuff unfortunately took over.

Once in a while the transfer is bad, but mostly they are good enough quality to enjoy. One of these days I'm going to make a list of the best of the best $1 DVD purchases, so anyone here can pick up a $1 DVD and get more than their moneys worth with a sure winner. There are a lot of good $1 DVD's.

I have a whole lot of the cheap $1 DvDs also. The only problem that I have found with them is the sound quality.  The only way I can watch them is with my surround sound, because for some reason the regular TV sound makes it sound very bad. Even with the very nice surround sound system I have it sounds quite bad. But I have only watched about 8 of them so far and out of those only 3 were like that.  So its not all of them.

My wife got me 2 20-Movie packs from Mill Creek:  "Very Strange Films" and "Cult Classics".  Still have not watched them all.
The "Strange" pack includes "Night of the Blood Beast" and "Warriors of the Wasteland", that have both been mentioned here more than once in the last few months --
The "Cult" pack has "Terror of Tiny Town" plus "Reefer Madness" and "Cocaine Fiends" -- in fact, no less than 5 of the films have the word "Marijuana" in the title -- never even heard of most of these . . . mayhaps with good reason!
I have watched a lot of the Cult collection:  "Child Bride"(1938), about inbred hillbillies in Arkansas, was actually quite good, with an almost pristine print.  The acting was even good from many of the principals, and the title card took pains to say that it was shot on location with local people playing roles.
"Escort Girl'(1941), however, was transferred from a beat-to-hades print with all the breaks and pops quite intact.  Almost unwatchable, except for a very risque burlesque scene, which I'm sure is what got it noticed.
In fact, any number of these films contain a healthy amount of gratuitious nudity or breast-shots.  "Test Tube Babies"(1948), has no less than 2 separate random gratuitous breast shots, as well as a strip-em-nekkid random gratuitous downright pointless cat-fight at a party, with a seminude guy in a chair holding a giant flower in the background.  I checked the box several times.  No, Salvador Dali or the Da-daists had nothing to do with it.
* * *
Each box cost $6.00 -- she left the sticker on so I could see -- So, 30 cents per film --

Picked up Sword and the Sorcerer and Jeepers Creepers 2 for a buck each at the store I work at.  The one good thing about cool stores going away is the closing sales.

I always manage to grab the cheap $10 multi-film box sets.  I lucked out one time and found the Gore and More box set, which had Bad Taste in it.  I almost peed!  It had some other good/bad films on it as well, like Drive-in Massacre and The Bad Brood, but then again it also had Night Train to Terror and Driller Killer.
