DEATH MACHINES (1976) (http://imdb.com/title/tt0074383/) - Opening title of this U.S. martial arts film from the 70's starts out with an image of a monolithic obelisk that opens in the middle with the title Death Machines. That opeing image was pretty neat then we get to the opening scene that has three expert assassins being tested for their new lady boss. This opening is the worst fight sequence you will ever see. People never involved with martial arts could have done better. A real bad way to start your movie, but then the movie some how picks up the pace as our crack threesome take out some people to prove themselves further. This is really a low budget film, but manages an airplane explosion, some shoulder launcher, and car crashes. The big fight scene in the martial arts school and the bulldozer/phone booth scene will probably be your most memorable as our silent assassins slice thier way through everyone, except one who survives after loosing his hand in the fight. This is top grade bad "as in bad/good" movie making. Good luck watching this one.
  (4 out of 10 Stars) Only because it has entertainment value you might appreciate. Only fans of bad movies need to view this. For all other this is a -1 out of 10

I haven't seen this but it certainly has one of the most unusual posters I've seen.
Trust me when I say it was the best part of the movie and when they show the monolith at the beginning you don't see any people falling out.
That's not to say that you shouldn't check this film out for $.50 when you get the chance just for the atrocious martial arts and lady boss with the mouth problem.
This belongs to the "Cool poster, bad movies" category of films. All hail Futurekill.
Yea, it is kind of a neat poster. Maybe someone should make a movie about that image.
I know those who made the film DEATH MACHINES certainly didn't.
My Roommate gave me a copy of Death Machines (on Blu Ray no less!) for Xmas last year. I was thrilled because this is my all time favorite bad movie. It has this hilarious "villain" (an Asian woman with a horrible lisp) and of course, the death by bulldozer while trapped in a phone booth.
I honestly love this film. It has everything a B movie (for me at least) needs to be engaging and disengaging at the same time!
The Blu Ray, released and remastered by Vinegar Syndrome has directors commentary. We re watched it just for the commentary in hopes that Paul Kyriazi can explain why Madam Lu is so horrible at being a villain. He claims she was the only Asian actor available in San Francisco (probably who was the only one willing to be in this movie anyway) In the commentary, he admitted to being asked at conventions and public events about this very part of the movie... and brushes it off like a pro.
You should watch his other film "Ninja Busters" The busters have an easy job since no Ninjas ever show up in the film.
