Title: Corman's Fantastic Four.*light spoilers*
Post by: daveblackeye15 on February 08, 2007, 11:11:34 AM
Well thanks to Youtube I've gotten to see Roger Corman's unreleased Fantastic Four movie. I became interested in it not only because of it being a bad movie. But also because the next Fantastic Four movie actually looks good.

Now i'm no FF expert (I'm more of a Spidey guy) but they got the generally premise down right. I think they did Dr.Doom wrong though since he's considered one of Marvel's biggest super villains, I did like his voice actor.

Ah the special effects, the most entertaining part of the movie. Mr Fantastic's powers looked pretty bad in some scenes, in others they actually look pretty cool. I'd say they did the The Thing the best, I thought he had a good costume. The Human Torch ain't too bad, except when his whole body goes aflame near the end. The Invisible Woman, needed work but she did use her powers pretty well.

Considering they fouled up Dr.Doom, has weak special effects and sets, and the usual weak Corman humor, this movie is actually pretty entertaining. I'll bet it's better than the 90's Captain America movie.

And Doom had a good final line.

Corman's Fantastic Four didn't have any continuity blunders with the FF on par with Captain America having an Italian Red Skull.

Considering how cheap the movie was made, it comes across as alot better than could be expected.

If we could only merege the Corman one with the more recent one, we could have an excellent FF movie.

Come on... the Jeweler!  We need to see Jeweler in Fantastic Four III.

The Jeweler, the poor man's version of Mole Man without the giant monsters.

I recently discovered that this movie is available on YOUTUBE.  I watched a few minutes of it, but I haven't seen the whole thing.

The only reason this movie was made is so that the people who owned the rights could keep them and then sell them to Fox.

I know that Trek. And though the movie was made just for that it has a small bit of a heart in it. VERY VERY little but quite a bit considering.

It's not like a few other poor special effects movies that made up for it by putting their hearts into the creation itself.
