So I've read that they're making a remake of Teen Wolf... except this time it's a girl
They're also doring a remake of Creepshow
Both of these make me think... "What's the point?"
Wouldn't it make more sense to just do a Teen Wolf 3 or a Creepshow 3? I mean if you're going to do Teen Wolf and change the main character to a female is it even really a remake? And Creepshow; I can almost gurantee they're not going to remake all 5 segments... they probably won't even remake 1 of them so why not just get 5 Tales from the Vault comics and just make Creepshow 3?
Anyone else feel the same way

Because it's not really wise to market a sequel to a film today's generation may not have heard of. They'd be all like... "What?"

They did make Creepshow 3! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0478125/ (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0478125/)
Cool. Bring on werewolf chicks.
Creepshow 3 is supposed to be beyond terrible.
A friend of mine checked it out last week and he couldn't talk me into watching any of it.
where'd he see it? it doesnt come out till may 15th
EDIT: well i did find some advance reviews and they are all bad here's one of them

here's a more thorough one,

makes my stomach turn.
Go ahead and call it Teen Wolf. Just tie it in with the others. It's not that hard.
Remaking Teen Wolf? That was so bad I didn't even bother to see the original. I'm sure it will be much better with CGI though! PG-13 can only help as well.

There is NEVER a valid reason for a remake. If they MUST milk the franchise, I agree. Make a sequel.
Karma for bringing up a good point.
And i read on wikipedia that a CREEPSHOW 3 is in the works, but I dont think it will meet the standardz of the other 2 because King and Romero dont have anything to do with it.

Never, huh? Hm, too bad. Then we'd not have FRANKENSTEIN with Karloff or DRACULA with Lugosi. And thousands of other "classics," including some very entertaining, well made and well acted Hammer films (like, uh, THE CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN and DRACULA with Lee).
Remakes via new vision are, in my opinion, welcome. Remakes due to no artistic vision is where the problem lies.
Sorry to keep harping on this, but I think it bears repeating whenever the point is raised along the lines of "remakes are ALL bad."
I just think that the remake takes away from the value and the essence of the original. Like the recent War of the Worlds movie. Although it was well put together, it was toatally unesessary. I thin kit would have been more apropriate as a sequel, but even THAT is a little questionable.
But i do agree with one point. The greater of the 2 evils is the remakes made just becouse some high executive hollywood jerkbag says "Hmmm, that movie got alot of money when it FIRST came out, lets do it again! heh eh ehhah ahHAHAHAHAHABROOOOAAAAHAAA HAAAGRRRORGGHAH!!!"

I agree but I also say let's leave the remakes in the 80s when they were good
Creepshow 3 has been out for a bit, but only in select film festivals. From what I hear, it's completely unbearable. Then again, it is from the creators of Day of the Dead 2: Contagium.
Is there real a purity of vision to the Teen Wolf franchise that would be ruined by a remake that should by all rights be called a sequel? Maybe we'll get a cameo from James Hampton, or even Michael J. Fox (longshot at best) if the film is anything other than a straight to video cash-in on the name.
I liked the first one when I saw it as a kid, less so on TV later on, but it was never a huge favorite. Although the girl who played Boof was pretty cute.
