Title: Great Movie Titles
Post by: The Burgomaster on April 03, 2007, 08:12:46 AM
I love it when movies (usually low-budget films or re-titled foreign imports) have really bizarre titles.  Here are 5 that come to mind.  Let's try to compile a huge list.

* The Saga of the Viking Women and their Voyage to the Waters of the Great Sea Serpent

* The Horrible, Sexy Vampire (aka El Vampiro de la Autopista)

* If You Don't Stop It . . . You'll Go Blind!!!

* Can I Do It 'Till I Need Glasses?

* The Eerie Midnight Horror Show (aka The Tormented, The Sexorcist, and several other titles)

Night of the Day of the Dawn of the Son of the Bride of the Return of the Terror

Or how 'bout this one:

Night of the Day of the Dawn of the Son of the Bride of the Return of the Revenge of the Terror of the Attack of the Evil, Mutant, Hellbound, Flesh-Eating Subhumanoid Zombified Living Dead, Part 3

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0475343/

There are movie titles that just don't seem to make any sense at all:

2 + 5: MISSION HYDRA (1965) (http://www.scifilm.org/musings3/musing1613.html)

A DOG, A MOUSE AND A SPUTNIK (1958) (http://www.scifilm.org/musings2/musing934.html)

and movies titles that end with a question:

WHAT'S SO BAD ABOUT FEELING GOOD? (1968) (http://www.scifilm.org/musings3/musing1007.html)

WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE? (1945) (http://www.scifilm.org/musings2/musing719.html)

WHO KILLED DOC ROBBIN? (1948) (http://www.scifilm.org/musings3/musing1049.html)

WHOEVER SLEW AUNTIE ROO? (1971) (http://www.scifilm.org/musings3/musing1077.html)

IS THIS TRIP REALLY NECESSARY? (1970) (http://www.scifilm.org/musings3/musing1450.html)

Sometimes how silly the title is is what makes me want to see it. Like "DONT WORRY. WE'LL THINK OF A TITLE".

That sounds BRILLIANT! However, this iz not always the case. like "SSSSSSS". lame lame lame lame. That movie blew more than .......... I dunno. It just blew.

Ok, out of all of those, I'm suprised you didn't mention "Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death."

One thing that I do appreciate about many bad movie titles is that you know what's coming, such as "Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter" or "Satan's Cheerleaders."  When you get a movie like "Troll 2", however...

Intersting that you should mention "Monster a Go Go."  The film group at my school is filming a zombie movie for their final project, and their calling it "Zombie a Go Go."  I get to be an extra.

Useless trivia time...Al Adamson's first film was called PSYCHO a GO GO...which was re edited, new parts added and rereleased as the convulated BLOOD of GHASTLY HORROR!!! (Al had a way with crazy titles,to catch the eye,and usually nothing to do with the content of the movie itself...)

No worries; I have been a geek all my life and don't find it to be too horrific. Of course, the only place I have spotty hair is on top of my head; otherwise, I look like a werewolf stuck in the middle of a transition from man to wolf (I'm just a wee bit furry). I also know about the loping around the countryside in the absence of women (naked or otherwise): In my single days, I racked up friend speeches like a NASCAR driver racks up miles. I personally hold the record for the shortest friend speech (a woman walked by me and just said, "Hi, Buddy!") and the shortest period of time before getting the friend speech (when I was asking her out).

And now, just so I'll quit hijacking this thread, here's some more great movie titles:

The Fearless Vampire Killers or Pardon Me, But Your Teeth Are in My Neck
The Wild World of Batwoman
Atom Age Vampire
The Playgirls and the Vampire
Kung Fu Vampire Buster
