ok someone at work mentioned this, which I had never heard of. Has anyone here attended this, and i wonder how you get tickets. Sry but the official site on the austin film site has little to no info except saying how he truckloads his favorite movies for an all out marathon

I have a friend who went to the 2nd QT film fest I believe while he was visiting some freinds/relatives around the time it was going on.
He said that it rocked and that Quentin makes the best emcee.
I'm not a huge Tarantino fan ( I love his movies though...), but if I were to go see a festival of movies picked by any one man, it would be him.
anyone heard of "buttnominthon"?
i think someone at work is yanking my chain...

BUTT-NUMB-A-THON exists, and I would kill to go to one. It's sort of like the QT fest where you are in the theater for hours at a time watching random cult cinema. The difference between the two is that BUTT also has new films, normally pre-releases of films.
Both of these events are heavily covered by AnitItCoolNews.com when they happen. The QT fests sound absolutely amazing with Quentin showing his favorite exploitation/horror films.
I wish I lived in Austin, TX. :bluesad:
Yeah he mentioned something about 72 hours of bmovies straight..i got to thinking that it probably was like Woodstock in there...lol But he said to get tickets you gotta write some email as to why you think you deserve it..maybe i need to go read more on that site. I used to visit that site ages ago but hadn't in quite awhile.
If anything austin has a cool theater (which i've never been but always saw the showings in the paper when i was in town) that play obscure b and horror movies. Sigh, why can't the rest of the world catch on? There's a drive-in near me but it's RIGHt off the highway, only 1 screen which shows the big budget flicks and it's about a 2 hour drive. Not much allure there. I still remember seeing "Ice Pirates" at the drive-in. But i digress
Susan,
I'm assuming the theater you are talking about is The Alamo Drafthouse, right? That's actually where QT Fest and BUTT take place each year.
Sure is - well that makes sense! maybe we should all just move to austin...
