Most of the world knows Clark as the director of sleeper comedies such as A CHRISTMAS STORY and PORKY'S.
Here, we also know him as the director of RINESTONE, BLACK CHRISTMAS, and CHILDREN SHOULDN'T PLAY WITH DEAD THINGS.
Wow. RIP, Bob.
Very sad.
He brought us a true spectrum of films, from classics to crap.
*raises glass*
The man was a tremendous talent and something of a legend in Canada. The original BLACK CHRISTMAS might just be the greatest Canadian Horror film ever made. And we all know what classics A CHRISTMAS STORY and PORKY'S are.
This really makes me sad. He was a truly nicep person in addition to directing some bona fide classics.
I'm going to pop in Turk 182 tonight as a tribute.
Very sad situation..... makes me appreciated "Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things" and "Deathdream" all the more. Rest in Peace Bob and thank you for your contributions to the world of cult cinema. :bluesad:
I just read this on another site.
Say what you will about Baby Geniuses, Bob Clark was a hell of a director. Black Christmas, and A Christmas Story are classic films. Porky's is as well.
The man could direct and he made some great films. I wonder if this is going to halt the remake of Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things?
RIP Bob. You will be missed.
The shame about all drinking and driving accidents is that they are a waste and something people know better than to do, but still they get behind the wheel. Too bad that the drunk had a larger vehicle. I keep wondering if the roads would be safer with normal vehicles regulated in size. There are a lot of variables and hurdles with that approach though. The only solution for this tragedy is to toss the bastard in jail and never let him drive again when he does get out.
