Title: Mutronics/The Guyver
Post by: DistantJ on April 15, 2007, 05:03:38 PM
Anybody else seen this one?

I think it's a laugh. The sequel was freaking awesome, though (in a more serious way).

I took some time to write my own review/walkthrough here with pictures and animated gifs:

I can't read the text, because this is a film that I keep thinking about reviewing.  However, I did browse the images and it brought back a memory.  When I first saw "The Guyver" I was surprised by the amount of effort they put into making real life suits and props.  Not since "Gremlins" has there been that much latex made into that many beasties.  I think that the suits were the best they could do, but still a little bulky.

Oh, and a short warning for any at work:  there is a shot of Linnea from "Return of the Living Dead" wearing only her birthday suit.  I would advise against looking while at work.

For some strange reason I still like this first Guyver movie. Dark Hero is the superior film. I don't know there's just something about Guyver that the child in me likes.

Oh, man, I'd love to see you review this. :) I'd been hoping to see a review of this film on a site like this for years - which is why I wrote my own.

I liked both, but I will say that the second one is better.  It wrapped things up.
