Why do you have the avatar you have? When I used to post on BMMB,I had the crazy doc from the 1934 MAINIAC,only because they had none I liked. I choose Bela from MARK of the VAMPIRE,because I'm a hardcore Lugosi fanatic...( READ not fan...FANATIC!!!Ask a Lugosi question...I know it!). Any way...why yer chosen avatars? This does'nt apply to Ash... who I suspect is schizo...cuz he changes avatars like underwear...( Just kidding............!!!! Put down that axe ,Eugene!).
Herbert West - Re-Animator. Wanted to stick with the Lovecraft theme my nick suggests....
Well in addition to being a B-movie nerd I am also an anime fan, thus Hinata Hyuuga, who I have not bothered to put back up since I failed at putting Amelie Poulain as my April Fools avatar.
(EDIT: Now I have)

When I first got on here, there wazznt a whole lot of avatarz so I picked the only one that applys to me. Now theres alot more that i would have picked like alot of the robot ones and the Cheetah man one, but the ss Goku one just seems to fit me now. I dig DBZ to make a long answer short.
I'm a fan of Sandman comic by Neil Gaiman and A huge fan of his Death character especially the spin off minis "High Cost of living" and "Time of your life".

I've actually been using that same avatar on a different board, which made it slightly confusing when the avatars were first available here, since I'd scan a topic and think your posts were mine.
As for the one I use...I've always gravitated toward darker imagery, especially reaper-like figures, so when I found this one a few years back, I decided to use it for an avatar at another board. When I created my b-movie site, the image seemed a natural fit with the general graveyard/darkness theme.
Well obviously I'm a fan of the comic series from Alan Moore. But I also liked the film adaptation. Why did I choose it? Probably because I'm usually smiling on the inside even if I'm not on the outside. Does that even make any sense?
I'm a Godzilla nut and a fan of Samuel L. Jackson, the only way I could think of to bring both together was the scene of the big guy and the line from Pulp Fiction. After I put it up Andrew was kind enough to provide an animated version and now I use that.
I wonder what Freud would say about my choice?
The Phantom from Space.
Considering how boring it was, I couldn't help but notice.
I thought it was indicative of my intelligence, personality & hygiene.

The Bela icon is great and I still haven't seen all of MARK OF THE VAMPIRE. TCM plays it once in a while. Hopefully they will play it again in October, so I can finish it. I liked what I saw.
My avatar is whatever image happened to strike my fancy, usually with a horror or 'b' movie theme. I always start get bored with my avatars, then an imgage jumps out at me and I just gotta use it.
So far here I've been:
Charles Ogle's monster from FRANKENSTEIN (1910)
A twitching, jerking Mae West from SEXTETTE (animated!)
A cover of CREEPY magazine featuring Lon Chaney from LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT
Papa Lazarou from the very dark BBC sitcom The League of Gentlemen
Currently: Peter Lorre as Dr. Gogol as Rollo the Knifethrower (RC will understand!) form MAD LOVE
Next one: ??????
So far no Andy Milligan avatars.

I originally went with Vanilla (Cool as) Ice because I'm a dork, as you can probably guess. How many other guys on this board didn't start dating until they were 25? How many have shrines to Spider-Man and H. P. Lovecraft in their rooms? Yep. Thought so.
I went with Tom Hanks, though because (besides being a D&D nerd for many years) nothing is more pathetic, yet strangely touching, as a young Tom Hanks crying after he loses his mind to a role-playing game.
The One Electronic is mine, with a nice screen cap from an old surrealist film, Un chien andalou, for a face.
He is a character from a rather surreal, unusual online graphic novel called "Rice Boy" which all should see.
http://www.rice-boy.com/ (ftp://http://www.rice-boy.com/)
I usually change mine almost weekly, but lately I've been sticking with the "Cyboman" from the Lawn Mower Man...I mean, you just can't go wrong with a cybernetic VR-trained, drug-fueled psycho chimp right?

Mine is the poster for The Mutilator which Andrew just recently reviewed.
It's a film that I hold dear. It's one of the worst, most terribly acted slasher flicks of all time.

I watched CONAN on TNT awhile back, and they CUT that scene, along with alot others! Even the quote from Conan when offered to buy a tailsam to ward off evil- " I am evil!" What th' hell.....? p**sed me off!
Raffine, I like your current avatar, that image from Mad Love has always stuck with me. Got to see that film all the way through some day.
I like Derf's latest avatar too, Tinkie Winkie/Punisher. Wonder where he got it, or did he make it.
As for mine, It's Ignatz Mouse from the classic George Herriman comic strip Krazy Kat. I love the strip once I finally got to see it, and a collection I found at the library got me through a rough stretch a few years ago when I really needed some laughs. Plus the whole throwing bricks at Krazy who only seems to love him more for the attention seems to relate to real life way too much.
I need take another gander around the internet for images of him. I'd like to find one of him actually throwing a brick since that's what he's know for.
Hey yaddo
if ya do a google image search for Ignatz you'll find a couple of pics of him in the throwing motion and one of him holding a brick
hope this helps
The avatar is a ratings symbol from my website and my screenname, well, read it out loud... :twirl:

that Jeopardy question! Clever fool? Sometimes clever, but ever the fool.
I picked this avatar because, I think it looked good and it would best describe my member name. But that's temporary. I'm an artist and if I can get my scanner to work (or buy a new one), I want to know if I can e-mail some pieces that can describe my name
I'm in a similar boat. I wanted to use some pictures that were more rebellious but it wouldn't work, so I had to settle on this one. I'm always looking to upgrade.
Dunno... I'm an eighties kid, used to collect the original Garbage Pail Kids when I was younger (and I collect the new series when I have extra cash), so I thought having Adam Bomb (aka Blasted Billy) would be a good choice for my avatar (it's also the same one I use for my newgrounds persona.)
Curious as to how many people recognized who the character is...
Thanks flackbait, I did a Google image search when I went looking for images when I wanted to add my own avatar. At the time, despite several pages of results, none had him with a brick. Don't remember if I tried a search with "Ignatz Krazy Kat brick" terms or not. This one is better than the one of him being startled that I also got, I liked the image, but it was a little blurry.
Time for a new round of searches.
Glad I could be of service

Actually, what cracked me up about Susan's new avatar is that it is Princess Aura and Susan put the "No, not the bore worms!" quote under her.
I found a picture which was supposed to be in the public domain, & it looked cool.

Old thread, but the dino skull in my avatar is the best fossil I have ever found.
Awesome film MY BLOODY VALENTINE (1981). My mom and I liked it when we watched it on HBO in the early 80s. But it kept me from getting a good night's sleep. One of Quentin Tarantino's favorites! I would always see this on the shelves at the video store by where my mom lived in Vancouver WA. Those movies scared me pretty good back then, but in my mid teens I got over it completely.

That find must have been historic. I have long been intrigued by that skull. Tell us about it.
I discovered it on a 7th grade field trip in 1997. Here is a video of me telling a later class the full story:

I kind of, sort of like Manos: The Hands of Fate and that picture of Torgo is the most ridiculous looking one of him I could find as a peeping tom :bouncegiggle:
Well, I'm a big fan of Howard the Duck. And oddly enough it suits me.
A friend drew this picture for me as a birthday gift (the original is is like 18"x40" BTW), and it seemed thematically appropriate. I like the series a fair bit too, obviously.

The pic I have is of me at Pretoria's Imax Theatre, going to see Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Strange that I should be standing in front of the standee poster of the remake of the first film I ever saw.
