not to mention a slew of discs that might not even see the light of day in the US. i really want the phantasm, alien and predator box sets. i have them on dvd already, i think they are worth buying for the packaging alone.
I'd be willing to pay good money for that Alien head disc case.
That's cool!
:hot: OH OH OH! (Drags hubby to monitor, gibbering incoherently) - I want!
We got the Event Horizon one here, though that's not really something to make a big song and dance about.
If you think it's bad comparing the US with Britain, well I'm sorry, but we're in the sticks down here, and probably don't even get half of what either of those two countries get...
Thankfully the Aussie dollar is trading well...
In response to the thread's question: It's because Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg (Britian's biggest and famous fanboys) are pulling the strings. :bouncegiggle:
:hot: Hot Fuzz this weekend! Woo-hoo!
About the grooviest box set I have here in the U.S. is the "Coffin Joe" collection which came acked in its own little cardboard coffin.

I think that the main reason some of the "special special" edition sets would worry me is storing them. The "Alien" set looks cool, but you are going to have to make space on a normal shelf or coffee table for the thing. I have that "Coffin Joe" set and it does not fit on any of my DVD shelving, so it has to sit on a shelf normally set aside for books.
I had the same problem with that Coffin Joe set.
I have the three discs on the shelf with other DVDs and the coffin is displayed seperately, right next to a "authentic" cardboard voodoo coffin containing a little "authentic" voodoo doll.

The answer: Yes! Who needs a lamp on an end table when you can have that? :teddyr:

I bet what you would like is a special edition boxset of "Night of the Lepus" that comes with a cage full of real, live rabbits.

Well, if the alien's head had a bulb in it...

During the initial run of THE RATS ARE COMING! THERE WEREWOLVES ARE HERE! theaters offered patrons the chance to
"WIN A LIVE RAT FOR YOUR MOTHER-IN-LAW!".
It was actually the producer's brilliant and economical way of disposing of the rats purchased for use in the film.

I'm sure I could rig something up...I need a light bulb, some wire, metal piping and a few beers.
Anyone else (I doubt it.) want the Alligator and Alligator 2 boxset thingy?
I know SOMEONE must also want the HOUSE (1986 and onward) 4-disk collection!
I remember seeing a few years back an Ed Wood box set that was in a box covered in faux pink angora...but alas...I was X-mMas shopping for the kids...and didn't buy it...(sigh)
Oooooh!!!! Me Want!!!!
I'd love to have that Phantasm set and the Oldboy set (the purple box).
