With the recent auto poll the idea of a Cross Country B-Movie Fest Road Trip was dreamed up. The idea would be for members, lurkers, and anyoneone else who wanted to join would participate in a cross country road trip from New York to Los Angeles using CB's all the way for the Badmovies.org annual B-Movie Fest in Hollywood, California at the Haunted Roosevelt Hotel for a line up of our favorite films and Hollywood Personalities.

Possible dusk-till dawn line up of films (post your own line up below):
Day 1
Death Race 2000
Plan 9 From Outer Space
Eraser Head
El Topo
Road Warrior
Return Of The Living Dead
Day 2
The Cannonball Run
Motel Hell
Blood Sucking Freaks
Zombie
Vampyres
Rocky Horror Picture Show
We would film the whole cross country ride and the one or two day event in the Hotel. Andrew could sell the DVD to help pay for the venue and guest and do what he wants with the rest.
1) The trip could be 5 days using our own cars.
2) Car pooling with B-Movie teams cutting the time down to a third. Possible 2 days with 24 hour driving teams.
3) Tour Bus with monitors to watch film line-ups on the way to California for 5 Days staying at the Roosevelt Hotel upon arrival for one night.

For those who wouldn't want to do the whole trip you could make arrangements to join or meet the tour at veriest times and locations along the way. Also along the way we could stop at select Drive-Ins and catch a double feature while everyone catches up. This trip would be a Summer trip.
Can it be done? Any thoughts or ideas?
It would be neat, but I think logistics and people taking time off from work make it unmanageable. Heck, I keep having a problem just getting to B-Fest, because of life and Marine Corps.
However, I wanted to say that, if I ever did have the opportunity, I would do it.
Might be best to wait until gas has come down from being 3.30 a gallon. :teddyr:
But this would be awesome if possible and enough people wanted to do it.
Yep, getting time off to do this would be hard with all that people have to do. Traveling in Teams 24 hours a day it could be done in 4 days. Let's do it ! ! ! ! ! Only 4 votes so far leaning towards "Yes".
The wife and I will be happy to meet you all at the Roosevelt Hotel, it's only about 12-15 miles from our home.
You might want to meet us in Las Vegas as we all stop for the twinkie sign on Fremont Street just before the home stretch to L.A..
Good idea my friend.
I can dig it. I start driving this summer.
