Let the whining and b***hing begin.

I, for one, don't like it.
Since I had a Spanish lesson today: a mi no me gusta tampoco
I don't know, to me it kinda conveys the Joker's insanity.
i dunno...that picture kinda conveys....
it rubs the lotion on it's skin or else it gets the hose

Yeah, I get that too. Seems that Nolan's looking for a grim, dirtier version than the purple suit wearing flamboyance machine with his own Prince theme music. I don't know what to think just yet. Jack Nicholson's version was perfect for a Tim Burton movie, Jim Carrey's version was perfect for a Joel Schumacher movie (you can't tell me
that was supposed to be the Riddler and not the Joker), and this version looks like it just may be demented and gritty enough to fit with Chris Nolan's Frank Miller-ish take on the Batman universe... meh, we'll have to wait till 2008.
It has to boil down to
"I always knew, Joker, that there was nothing wrong with you that I couldn't fix
with my hands..."
The Miller Joker, to me, is a nearly supernatural boogeyman. Whoever plays him has to be able to play someone who has NO conscience and just a little bit of looniness -- not the other way around...
Personally I think he looks good. I'm not after the wacky antics of Jack Nicholson. Sure wacky-away, but I want someone, like Zap said, with absolutely no conscience, who revels in the insanity of things.
I'm still vague on Ledger, but so far the picture made me feel just a touch better about the casting choice. There's still a ways to go before I start slapping backs in excitement but you get the idea...
I suppose it all depends on what you expect out of a Joker character in the end. Like Anubis said, it seems like they're still going the gritty Nolan path, in which this version seems to suit well.
And yes, we'll just have to wait and see I suppose.
On the plus side,Robert Rodriguiz is remaking BARBERELLA.
:buggedout: Ummm...... I'll just wait and see how he looks in the movie. That is one lousy promo shot. It looks like Heath was trying to do his own makeup while driving down a VERY bumpy road! (A seed of doubt has been planted in my mind, but I will stay positive until I see the film next year... or at least I'll try to remain positive.)
