I went to Circuit City today to buy APOCALYPTO and they had a bin of movies for $3.99 each. I bought:
* DOOM (UNRATED)
* CHEECH & CHONG'S STILL SMOKIN'
* MUNICH
* HOOK
* AMERICAN PIE PRESENTS: BAND CAMP (UNRATED)
* THE BOURNE SUPREMACY
* LEGENDS OF THE FALL
* PRIMAL FEAR
* URBAN COWBOY
* DOUBLE JEOPARDY
* 48 HOURS
* ALI
They had several others that I didn't buy, like BELLY, WELCOME TO MOOSEPORT, LABYRINTH . . . probably about 20 - 25 titles in all. Not a bad way to economically fill up your collection.
PRIMAL FEAR - Is that the thing with Ron Perlman (I think) and the killer monkeys? I never made it all the way through that one (always had something better to do), how is it?
PRIMAL FEAR is the one where Richard Gere is an attorney defending Ed Norton in a murder trial.
Cheech and Chong would be a good buy, as would 48 hours IMO. Bourne Sepremacy was OK also.
Thanks Burgomaster. Might be heading that way later tonight to check it out.
what else did they have? I might have to check it out too - i never go to circuit city. today i went to walmart and i never seem to find anything in their bin. A few of the movies i already have. I picked up "Mad max beyond thunderdome" today, don't know WHAT i was thinking...guess it's been a long time since i'd seen it. I'll probably trade it in at the movie trading co. along with The Brood which i've been meaning to get rid of
They also had ANGER MANAGEMENT and AS GOOD AS IT GETS . . . I already have both of them. They had MATILDA, plus a Steven Segal movie, a Jean Claude Van Damme movie (I don't remember the titles of either of them, but I think they are recent direct-to DVD movies) and several others . . . I can't remember the rest.
I felt even better when I went to Best Buy today and all of these movies were priced significantly higher than $3.99 . . . LEGENDS OF THE FALL is $14.99 at Best Buy vs. $3.99 at Circuit City.
And I scored 3 movies at Best Buy for $7.99 each (minus a 10% coupon I had): KUNG FU HUSTLE, CAPOTE, and THE EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE (UNRATED)
