Woohoo! Katie has been having some good contractions, so I'm thinking that we will be going to the hospital in the near future.
Congrats and best of luck! :bouncegiggle:
Congratulations!
Best of luck to mom and dad!
WooHoo!!!! Good luck to all three of you. :teddyr:

Congratulations Andrew! Best of luck man!
Congrats and best wishes!
Cool! I watched my oldest born (c section) and younger (natural) and it was the most disgusting and joyous days of my life! Good luck and God bless you all!
Congrats Andrew and Katie!
Arrgghhh. We're back from the hospital and no baby. Right on the verge, but the contractions subsided, even though she was having some good ones, about 2 minutes apart. They were strong enough that she would stop talking and just grimace through them.
Maybe tomorrow...
CONGRATS BROTHER!!
Keep us posted on everything! :teddyr: :drink:

I believe congratulations are in order. I hope all goes swimmingly.
Sorry, I'm a bit late to this. Hope the baby didn't delay its debut on account of me.
While I'm sure the suspense is both emotionally and physically draining, the birth will be all the more joyous and wonderful for it. Maybe you've got a theatre director in there, or a serial novelist, or a daredevil! Certainly someone who knows how to build up the audience!

Hope everything goes well, have you got enough cigars for all of us?
Congratulations Andrew and Katie, hope all goes well when the new munchkin decides to put in an appearance, in the mean time I'm going to stop at church and say a little prayer for all of you. Let us know what's happening.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...........Good luck to you all.....Andrew make sure you park in the emergency section not the visitors parking lot.....lol.....that 1/2 mile walk doesn't do wonders.....lol :buggedout: :bouncegiggle: :bouncegiggle: :bouncegiggle:

Actually, if it will help to ensure that she actually has the baby, I might make her walk the long walk. Going to the hospital yesterday after all that and then the contractions fading away was annoying. Maybe I'll drive her around in my truck, looking for potholes. That should do the trick.
Thanks all. Katie keeps saying, "This baby is never coming out." I've assured her that is probably not true.

Wow, that takes me back....I thought my oldest would never come out either. She's still pretty slow when it's time to get something done.
Trick for you both: sugar speeds up contractions. This could be a good time to indulge in some sodas.

Has the baby been listening to any of the news? If I had known what the state of the world was, I would have done my damnedest to stay put.
I have a friend who swears by salad with balsamic vinegar dressing to induce labor in stubborn babies.
Thunderstorms and hurricanes are supposed to be good for inducing labor because of the sudden drop in atmospheric pressure, but they're a bit harder to come up with than some vinegar.
Good luck and prayers to mom, baby, and dad!
I've heard that a tea made from raspberry leaves is supposed to help with childbirth (that is, if your going the natural route; I doubt its any competition for a dose of morphine). I've also heard of an old superstition where you put a knife under the matress and that "cuts the pain in half" though I wouldnt be bringing any sharp objects into the hospital if I were you.
Sorry, but my head happens to be full of completely useless information. Good luck and congrats.
No luck yet? i have a friend who was due to have a c-section this morning, but the baby had dropped, so they are waiting another week to see what happens.

I'm really late on this one, but congrats on having a baby. Hope everything goes/went okay in the delivery room.
For the update, see the thread labeled "Garrett Jonathan Borntreger," but I'm going to post here with my thoughts. "For someone who has never had to go through something like this, words fail me."
