8 pounds, 11 ounces
Congrats, Borntreger family! Glad to hear the good news!
AH! Congratulations!!!! What an amazing coincidence that Garrett should share the same birthday as Badmovies.org and Bruce Campbell! That child is surely destined for greatness! Here's the Wikipedia article on June 22nd (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/June_22).
He's a cutie!
Congraulations man!

Congratulations Andrew and Katie!!
Thanks all. I'm going to have to do something nice for Katie. She has given me three children, all over 8 lbs and all with big heads.
Crazy how his birthday ended up being the same day that Badmovies.org started. Now I cannot wait until the kids are 8,6, and 4 (they are all 2 years apart) and I am wearing myself out just to keep up with the three of them.
Cute kid you have there...a B-filmer in the making. I'm glad to hear that everybody's doing well.
Congratulations!
What an adorable kid the stork brought you.
Have one of these...

He's beautiful! Now go buy Katie a day at a spa, after three babies that big she deserves it.
Congrats, Andrew!!!!
Congratulations! And Welcome to young Garrett.
Congratulations Andrew! Cool name choice too. He's a big guy :teddyr:
Congrat!
Best wishes to Mom, Dad, baby, brother and sister!
Congratulations Katie and Andrew
Congratulations Andrew!
Congratulations to the whole Borntreger gang!
I was a Friday baby, too.
Friday's child is loving and giving, as the saying goes.
Also, Friday's Child is the title of a memorable Star Trek episode chock full of Klingons and Julie Newmar!
That is a cute little fat baby. Congratulations to you both!
You should bring in a copy of "Heartbeeps" for Katie to watch in between feedings and naps.

After looking at the size of that baby's head, I'd say the poor woman has suffered enough.
Wonderful news! Congratulations to Andrew and family.

Thanks all. Yes, even Ash. I'm looking forward to Katie and Garrett coming home tomorrow. He is really quiet, barely ever cries. You really have to rile him up to get crying (well, that or when he is having his diaper changed - the circumcision seems a bit tender).
Oh, and Katie has already seen "Heartbeeps" thanks to me. She would probably through her hospital food tray at me, including the food.
Congratulations Katie and Andrew!

Yeah, I know... I remember seeing her post, before you review, basically saying "I beg you not to see this one."
Depending on the hospital, throwing the food isn't so much of a gesture. ;)
Hey! The insurance companies could start running Heartbeeps in the postpartum ward, and that'd for sure shorten hospital stays!
Congratulations Andrew ! ! ! Looks like he's already eyeing your copy of Gymkata.
Congratulations to you and your newly expanded family, Andrew.
Andrew,
I have to commend you on your name choice for young Garrett.
Too many parents these days give their kids horrible names.
Even if they do give their child a "normal" name, they often modify the spelling to make their child seem "unique".
As if it makes the child "special".
Ugh!
Read this article about bad kid names:
(be sure to check out the ABC News message board about this topic..there are some good comments there)
http://www.abcnews.go.com/GMA/story?id=3309227&page=1
Something on there caught my attention...
"Baby naming is big business today. Some parents are turning to professional consultants, computer programs, polls and even numerologists to achieve the perfect moniker for their bundle of joy."
---------------------------------------
I'm so glad you gave your kid a normal name.
Throughout Jr. High and High school, I was good friends with a guy named Garrett.
I actually ran into him recently at local grocery store and we had a humorous chat...
What a handsome lad he is too, congrats Andrew and Katie! Heres to sleep deprivation and all the fun that comes with a baby!
Hey Andrew, I think you're pulling our leg with that picture. That kid looks 3 months old already!
Mine were both small and wrinkly.
Congrats and have fun chasing them all around.
I keep telling Katie that I make big and healthy babies. If anything, Andy was our big and well developed boy. He could immediately hold his own head up. Garrett is doing that with some success as of today. The nurse commented on it before Katie was discharged.
He really doesn't cry unless you are changing his diaper and that wasn't an issue until his circumcision (poor little guy). But, man, change that boy fast. He can pee and he has distance like you wouldn't believe.
I had Andy and Jenna outside today for a while. We chased bugs. Both the kids had little butterfly nets and their wire mesh bug cages. Andy caught a pair of grasshoppers and Jenna managed to get both a moth and a little blue butterfly. The kids both wanted me to catch a dragonfly (we have a small pond nearby), but those things are fast.
They both let the bugs go before dinner.

...and all with big heads.
Now why does everyone leave it to me to chime in the the obvious response 'takes after their father'?
It's not unusual for children to be given two middle names; I'm certain it was a typo, so I'll correct it: welcome Garrett Jonathan Menard Borntreger.
Hey, since we call the last boy Little Andy, can we call this one Little Menard?
Imagine having a child grow up to be just like me; I'll be a great Godfather.
Congratulations, Katie, on putting up with Andrew and all of the work you have done carrying and giving birth to three children.
Andrew; it's time to give that lady a break, so keep your hands off of her you hillbilly. Perhaps you should know that those things aren't for filling up with water and throwing off of a roof. :tongueout:
Seriously, though, congratualtions to the two of you, Jenna, Little Andy, and the new addition...
...Little Menard :teddyr:

Congratulations Andrew and Katie!!
This news has made a very cold Pretoria morning and a shivering me all of a sudden warm inside.
Hope all is well with Katie and Little Menard, sorry, little Garrett!

Menard, we didn't forget you. "Garrett" is just an anagram of "Menard." Really.
Actually, I think the problem is that I always get confused between pull and push. Them there con-dom things is unnatural city folk magic. I can almost imagine them suffocating mah willy. Besides, yah should see the boys in collared shirts after you hit one with a water con-dom, 'specially one of the ones with the stickum on it.

Don't tell Katie that it is the middle of winter down there. She is constantly hot. I thought it would abate after the delivery, but she was still miserably hot last night (not that we weren't up every few hours).
Thanks you two.

:bouncegiggle: I was wondering what on earth Menard was referring to!! :bouncegiggle:
Yes, it is winter here, but in Africa, we have this kind of winter: cold in the mornings, as Colin Farrell would say, "Brass monkeys!" and then warmer as the day progresses, but there is always some sun somewhere and the sunsets, truly amazing.
Way to reproduce Mr. B! Congrats to yourself and especially Missus Badmovies.org on an adorable new addition to the family, heh. May Garrett shun mainstream cinema and develop a sense of humor you can be proud of. I'd buy you a copy of
The Suckling, but I try to reserve those for the firstborns. :teddyr:
Congrats to you Andrew and your wife Katie!!!
Congradulations, jarhead. May you wear an apron and a splash guard on your face when changing your son.
More thanks! I mentioned in another thread that Garrett is keeping us on an insane schedule. He wants to sleep all day, but at about 10:00 pm he starts wanting to feed every 90 minutes. I am thinking that Katie feels like the Men in Black do, trying to adapt to the 37-hour Centaurian day.

Sleeping all day, staying up all night, a voracious appetite (especially if it involves sucking on breasts); yep...Little Menard is already taking after his namesake.
:teddyr:
See, this is what I get for going away for the weekend. Belated congratulations, fellow procreator!

With the exception of sleeping all day, those quite match me too. I'll have to ask Katie if she had any dalliances around September 2006. I think she had already used her free dalliance card for 2006 by then.

I think you have me beat, just because we have to stop. Aren't you required by law to have at least five? That is Utah law, right?

If so, we're moving. Make room in your basement!
I should scroll down and explore all these other wacky parts of the forum more often.
Belated, but I'd like to say congratulations!
Oh, and three kids are plenty!
Many congratulations from Aussie-land. High fives and whooping noises aplenty!
How are the other youngen's taking to the new lad?
Hey! It's a babY! A human baby! Not a Rosemary Baby! :tongueout: Seriously,Congratulations! My son Jed was born on a Friday too...the 13th of November,infact...I was afraid he would have 666 tattoed on his forehead,or something....

Or wearing a hockey mask and wielding a machete? I can imagine the looks in the delivery room if that happened. :tongueout:
It looks like you made it to the emergency room ok, I don't see any speed bump marks. He's a little cutie. We need to see some Katie and Andrew baby pictures so we can see who he looks like, as people always do, hehehehehe.....just kidding. I send you good health and happiness for your family. Could you please send the other two over here, to get rid of our grasshoppers please, we're being invaded. They actually attack at moments, especially when I'm watering. :bouncegiggle:
Actually, there was a joke in the delivery room. When they found out we didn't know what we were having, one of the girls said something like, "Well, I hope its a baby." I responded that I hoped so too, but if what came out was an alien squid baby, everyone should flee the room while I tried to hold it off.
LOL, Andrew. How did Katie take it, or is she used to that by now.
Katie is pretty much used to my humor by now.
Everyone will also have to forgive me. I notice glaring typos in my posts and emails a lot lately. For the time being, I am often trying to get ten or fifteen things done in small amounts of time and typing fast/not proofreading.
Congratulations man

Missed this announcement, so I'm late too. Congratulations on the birth of your son! The best to your whole family.
