Title: Comparing DVDs.
Post by: JaseSF on July 01, 2007, 10:33:28 PM
Anyways the recent post in the Good Movies "Nosferatu" thread got me to thinking how I'd really like to have access to a site that compares different DVD versions of movies so I have some idea what to choose given just how many versions tend to be out there nowadays. Anyone have any good DVD review site suggestions that cover this purpose to offer up?

DVDVerdict
Amazon
DVDTalk
DVDReview
DVDFile
DVDTown
Digitallyobsessed
DVDjournal

That's a few, I don't know if any do a side by side comparison ... but they do review the disc quality and features.

DVD Beaver does some pretty intensive side-by-side comparisons.

As a matter of fact, here's their comparison of the Image vs. the Kino versions of NOSFERATU:

Until it was confirmed work friendly, I would have been worried about what kind of DVDs that DVDBeaver was comparing.

WTF Film seems to do a good bit of comparing versions from what I have seen, the only limitation is that it is a personal site and does not have a huge volume of work.

You, sir,  have a dirty mind.  :bouncegiggle:

I think I once asked Gary Tooze why they call the site 'DVD Beaver' but I forgot the answer.
