Ok this is not a contest and who has the most, just curious to see how many movies my fellow movie lovers have cluttering up their life.
I have trouble selling mine, even the crappy one so I just put them away in the box in hopes that they'll somehow get better with age. Currently I have roughly 3500+ DVD's ... yes this is a lot, in fact it might be to many. I may need a support group. :buggedout: I'm bad about buying huge box lots and taking what I want or hitting sidewalk sells at video stores where they sell the loose disc or the ones their over run with, many times they'll sell them for a $1.00
So how many do you have? Do you need help? Or are you working on it?
I've got somewhere around 780 or something. Haven't counted in a while though.
I've really had to cut back on buying DVd's over the last couple of years though as I've had some extra stuff come up that has eaten up a lot of my "play" money.
CRIPES, I thought I had too many DVD's! But then again who can really own too many...? My DVD Aficionado tally is at 470. I've got a handful of burned DVD's that I don't include on the list.

The list is comprised of everything that my wife and I have, so don't be shocked by all of the chick flicks.
I keep an Excel listing that has 2,214 titles on it, but it is not up to date. I have several 50 movie packs that I have not added to the listing, plus many stand-alone titles. So, I'd say I have somewhere around 2,500 titles.
I think that my collection is around 3500 too. It should be more, but a number were lost during a move (darn military movers) and, while we were paid a replacement cost, I haven't gone looking for many of the titles. They were all VHS tapes and LDs. I think only one box of DVDs was lost and I'm pretty sure I have replaced all of them.
Repeat to self: You do not have time to create a database of your titles right now. Wait until the kids are in high school.
I have around 350 or so, most of them I have ripped and watch them on my buffalo linktheater, that way they are available in any room that is attached to my network and has a linktheater (which also has a dvd player built-in). The rest (ones I didn't or couldn't rip), I have in a 400 disc jukebox. This doesn't include my wife's movies (barf).
I'm a bit pale in comparison to everyone else. I find myself being less of a re-watcher of movies as I get older hence I cut back immensely on movie purchases. Rather I rent online and send back when I'm done. Guessing I have less than 500.

I've been trying to build one, slowly as I get tired of finding some great sale just to buy a few and find out I already have two or three of them already. Guess that explains why I have about 50+ dupes I need to thin out. I'm getting to old to remember every title I have.
Yeesh... Being only a young fan my collection has only around 73 DVDs and/or VHSs not yet available on DVD :bluesad: and quite a number of these are actually good or middling movies, not bad ones :bluesad:

My collection also consists of many
good or
middling movies. I can't watch bad movies ALL the time. Believe me, I spend just as much time (well, ALMOST as much time) watching old black & white classics, Oscar winners, acclaimed foreign films, and other mainstream stuff as I spend watching crap. I find that my early evening viewings (between 7:00 and 10:00) lean toward decent movies. I save the crap for the 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. time slot.
I keep a list of everything I have and right now I have 2056 titles in my collection. Over half of that number is movies, the rest is split between TV shows and anime.
I always for get to metion in threads like this that I cound sets as DVD's, not as individual movies. So even though I listed 780 as my collection, as far as actual movies it's much more than that.
Stuff like the Alien Quadrilogy, The Indiana Jones box set, the Back to the Future Trilogy, stuff like that.
