This is one of those "real time" movies where most of the movie is kind of like one big shot. In this case, it is of the tension between a group of criminals and the man , woman, and young child they have kidnapped. There's a relatively sane mastermind guy and two maniacal lowlife criminals who are the gang , and two random unlucky passerby as hostages, one , the man, has a small child who he is attempting to bring to the hospital. Our fear for the health of the generally asleep boy drives alot of the tension.
This DVD came with two versions of the film. I watched the original, mainly because I liked the music of the opening sequence better than the one his son played with. the original has some nasty sounding harpsichord or something, while the new one had something more sedate.
Due to the concept the movie can be a bit of an endurence test at times. It's well written and acted and believable, but they are always in the car so, it's not like you have alot of scenery or action to take in. But all in all it was excellent and entertaining.
Isn't this the rare,almost unfinished movie directed by Mario Bava? I would love to see that!
I love this movie! It has a brilliant surprise ending. The one drawback though is the movie isn't as good when you watch it the second time, the unexpected ending is really what makes this movie amazing so it feel pointless when you already know it.
zombie- I think that would wualify as a "spoiler" there. but i agree that aspect of the film was good
