Inspired by the much earlier "Reggie or Ash?" topic and watching NEON MANIACS, I suddenly want to shift mindset from the "reggie/ash/ripley/burt" "everyguy pulled into extrordinarily gory monster-fighting situation utilizing every damn weapon-like thing they can get their hands on character, kicking ass throughout a large number of films" and instead want to call attention to the similar character, seemingly more often used in cheap horror films.
The characters I think of are usually teenagers, usually stay for a sequel or two at most, usually stay in the 80s, and usually don't wield huge guns, preferring the "Home-alone" method of taking down foes. This usually works.
The above choices are all I could think of at the spur of the moment, I'm sure you can think of more but alas, I am but a young Bad-movie fan. If you are dissatisfied, feel free to pick "other" and post your choice. If you are confused about the current "generic name" choices, here is a nifty guide -
1. Fright Night films
2. Waxwork films
3. Neon Maniacs
4. Gremlins films
5. The Lost Boys
6. Return of the Killer Tomatoes
7. Friday the 13th - IV-VI
8. Nightmare on Elm Street 1, 3, and kinda New Nightmare
9. Night of the Creeps
10. Night of the Comet
11. Shocker
Oh and, don't forget to actually leave some kind of message since I suck at starting conversations....
Tear 'em up!
Had to vote for Nancy! the other movies are ok but it takes a special kind of person to take on old Freddy! and while Nancy came on strong at the end of the first movie she really shined in the 3rd one so she gets ol'Kroo's vote! :teddyr:
I must admit, I haven't bothered to commit many of these characters' names to memory. But I had a crush on Heather Langenkamp when I was little, so I cast my vote for Nancy. It should be noted she was also (briefly) in Shocker.

She looks even better now that she's gotten older. Talk about a babe. :tongueout:
