Title: Every Which Way But Loose
Post by: Bmeansgood on July 27, 2007, 08:08:39 PM
I guess I would consider this a B movie just because it delivers so much fun with such a lousy premise. I mean come on, you have loads of pointless fights, a group of bumbling bufoons as the bad guys and an orangutan!

This movie is such a guilty pleasure!

I've seen this one but it's been awhile.

I always remember Clyde the Orangutan.

BANG!

I remember this pretty well.  Especially the Eddie Rabbit song they had at the beginning.  It was all part of that curious little trend in the 70's, where they'd take even the least likely movie, and put in a touchy, feely pop song that was often accompanied by orchestra. Even the 79 horror flick "The Legacy" had one of those.  I guess the success of "The Morning After" from The Poseidon Adventure had something to do with it.  Anyway, Rabbit's was actually pretty good compared to a lot of the others from that time.

I always liked the scene in the C&W club where Philo and Orville put the false teeth in the girl's soup.

This film was a huge part of my childhood.  It is one of my father's favorites and it's appeal happened to filter down to me.  MA is such a great character.  Mix that with the lousy biker gang and orangutan to me its pure bliss.  "Hospitable, HOS-SH*T".

My dog's name is not Clyde, but whenever we go for a walk and we need to turn, I always say
"Right turn Clyde"

Luckily she learned to ignore my random movie quotes a long time ago.
