I caught the second half of this years ago when I was a wee boy. The battle enthralled me and I think it had the same effect as the '300 Spartans' did for Frank Millar.
A very entertaining and engaging movie. The first hour is spent preparing for the battle coming onslaught, the second half the actual fight. Can't say who my favorite character is but I really like the Colour Sergeant. I believe my favorite parts are when the soldiers formed firing ranks and pushed back the Zulu charges. I recall going 'oh my god' after they did it the second time, the bodies were just piled up on each other.
Pure win, I call it the '300' of 1964, complete with historic inaccuracies even!
I recommend it.
As Witherspoon said from Dog Soldiers: "Balls of British steel."
A great movie, with some great action scenes. And let's us not forget, it's lesser known prequel "Zulu Dawn."
