"Spider-Man" by The Ramones
http://youtube.com/watch?v=i5P8lrgBtcU
I love The Ramones version of this song, because, well, it rocks.
I gotta throw in my votes for Green Jello's "Three Little Pigs", Fatboy Slim's "Weapon of Choice", the Beastie Boys' "Body Movin'" and Pearl Jam's "Do the Evolution" for reasons noted below...

Even though he grew up to be a child-molesting, middle-aged white woman, Michael Jackson's THRILLER video is still a classic . . . . and Weird Al Yankovic's video to AMISH PARADISE is simply hilarious.
Okay, last two, I promise...

Truely, my altime favorite is Iron Maiden's "Wasted Years".
[youtube=425,350]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZXEq_8-nrY
This was the song and video that got me hooked onto Maiden.
In my opinion, they are the best and will be the best.
Plus their mascot Eddie is real cool character.

More bands need mascots. Eddie was always awesome (so much so he even got his own action figures!) and I was also a fan of the Death's Head guy from the Megadeth album covers too. Though I could never get myself into a state of mind where I actually enjoyed Molly Hatchet's music, you've gotta love 'em for using Frank Frazetta art on their covers... although I'll never understand whomever it was that thought the perfect album art to accompany southern rock would be dark fantasy stuff... then again, from a marketing stand point, I've definitely purchased a few vinyls in my time solely for the sleeve art, so who am I to talk.

Ok, so it isn't the best video every. The fact these guys aren't Spinal Tap is just funny to me.
Anubis already mentioned Do The Evolution which aside from being a kick ass song, is one of my favorite videos of all time.
That being said, I always loved the video for Sober by Tool:

It's a shame that music videos don't exist anymore, and even when they do, they don't tell a story as used to be the case.

Yeah, the only story they seem to tell any more is that people who get plastic surgery, need attention at all times, and throw themselves around like they're the sexiest thing since sliced bread are all that today's pop culture tragedies need to convince them to spend their parents' money on crap. Oh yeah, and that everyone in the hip-hop industry apparently can't live without everything they own dipped in platinum and skanks, because these are like oxygen to them.
If anyone would like to join me in self-imposed exile from the mainstream, there's always room for one more... :tongueout:
I do agree with Thriller too. But I got some faves myself
Marilyn Mansons' Beautiful People
Micheal & Janet Jackson Scream
Linkin Park's Breaking the Habit
Bone Thugs 'n' Harmony's Crossroads
Sir Mix-a-lot's Baby Got Back
That last one? Well the first line he says, that pretty much says it all
i don't have cable, but the last time i looked 10 years ago MTV was no longer showing music videos. So for me - music videos died in the early 90's. With that said the video's that stick out in my mind, don't think they're the best but certainly are the most memorable if after all these years they come to mind are:

Um...for once I have nothing much to say. Wow. :question:
Best parts of this one are;
1:30 in, the look of the valley girl
2:20 in where the guitarist "breaks the chains" to hit the guitar solo.
This video is so METAL

There's also a version of the Indian Thriller on YouTube with made-up English subtitles where someone put in the English equivalent of what the singer is saying (not to be confused with any kind of actual translation of what he's really saying). "Girly Man! Man! Man! Man! Man!" :bouncegiggle:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollonia_6
QuoteA four-track video was filmed based on the Apollonia 6 album, directed by Brian Thomson (Australian Production Designer of the original stage versions of Rocky Horror Show and Jesus Christ Superstar), scripted by Keith Williams (concept writer for such videos as Against All Odds/Phil Collins, Ghostbusters/Ray Parker Jr, and She Works Hard for the Money/Donna Summer), with a cast comprising of Ricky Nelson, Edy Williams and Buck Henry. Shot in a Los Angeles film studio in 1985, and produced by Limelight, a UK video company operating out of LA, it never went beyond rough-cut and has never seen the light of day.

Part 3:
[youtube=425,350]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZ5PvkK91gw
That video should come with a dosage warning.
I just watched all three parts of it back to back and for some reason, I have this urge to push a power drill through the roof of my mouth and into my right eye socket.
Granted, the jiggle factor was mediocre, at best, but hardly enough to make up for the music, which was on the wrong side of 80's tunes for my taste, the clothing, or lack there of, and the abhorrent acting.
I'd give it a slime and a half over all.

For my vote, dunno if I'd call it the best, I but liked the video for Max Graham vs Yes "Owner of A Lonely Heart" (come on, if you had the resources, you'd have done that too at the boys' age.) Pearl Jam's "Jeremy", and of course, I GOTTA mention Johnny Cash's "Hurt".
