THE WEREWOLF VS THE VAMPIRE WOMAN is as good as any ever made. The film is made in Spain in 1970 starring Paul Naschy. Real big claws and long vampire teeth. This is truely a great werewolf/vampire movie. You won't be disappointed. I just liked everything about it. Has anyone enjoyed this film as much as I have?
Something Weird Video released the original uncut Spanish version titled LA NOCHE DE WALPURGIS in English and in a somewhat so-so widescreen transfer that is either close to 1.66:1 or 1.75:1 (it really varies due to the transfer).
While I am glad it is uncut from SWV, unfortunately the English dub is not uncut. The dub was taken from the cut U.S. version and placed on the original Spanish language track. Due to the U.S. cuts, it eliminates some additional English dialouge and therefore some scenes are in Spanish language with NO SUBTITLES. SWV could have gotten a hold of the uncut International Version with the uncut English soundtrack, but what are you gona' do? Anchor Bay to the rescue!
Really whacky movie indeed as most of Naschy's movies are. He's alway in some s & m dungeon being totured or beating the hell out of abomible snowmen or vampires. His movies have been really hard for me to find but I've collected most of them. If you really want to learn more about him, buy his autobiography. He goes into detail about most of his movies and his life.
