Does anyone remember this cartoon??? It is set in the future and has spaceships that look like submarines. I remember seeing it once or twice. I thought it was cool and would like to see it again.
Any ideals?????
John

Yes it's Captain Harlock. A very underrated classic anime show.
Is this on DVD or VHS???
I would not mind seeing it again.

I'm sure it is. I remember when Akira broke and video stores started stocking anime, that was one of the serieses you could rent. Based on that image, I actually thought it was Starblazers (Space Battleship Yamato), which I was addicted to as a kid.

Starblazers, Captain Harlock, and Queen Emeraldas all had submarines and/or battleships flying in space.
I guess I will have to watch all three.
What a shame.

STARBLAZERS rocked . . . it was my introduction to anime, and I've never really seen any I liked better.

I agree with indianasmith on all three points. What got me was how three-dimensional were all the characters on the show, especially the villains. I wasn't use to seeing that in cartoon characters, so I enjoyed it, when I did see it.

Yeah, but I think its out of print. And they aren't restored.
A year ago I rented the first season DVDs from Netflix.
If you can, track down "Star Dipwads". It's clips from Starblazers with a couple of guys doing voiceovers. It's hilarious.
I've heard there's a second version that isn't as funny as the original, so make sure you get the first version.
