I rarely will write something on a movie that I haven't finished yet, but this is like a marathon. and it's not even 90 minutes long.
You would have to be a zen master or sedated to sit through this in one sitting. it's like OLD molasses. that's really the main thing I 've taken away from this film. I was reading something once about some new drug called Salve... something or other. apparently taking it feels like "paint drying" . I don't know exactly what that entails, but it probably feels like "Idaho Transfer"
It is unique appealing in it's own way however. the lead actress is both pretty and somewhat complex and the plot is interesting, a time machine that goes to 2044 AFTER the earth has somehow been wiped of it's population and trees.
the music resembles Popul Vuh's sountracks to Werner Herzog's movies. in fact, Herzog himself had a film calleed "wild blue yonder" that resembled this one recently.
Maybe Peter Fonda, who directed this, took the time machine from the movie and watched herzogs film then wen back and made this. or maybe not
This is a neat little film that is a bit slow, but worth a good look. The ending is kinda neat also. Lester1/2jr. you get Karma just for watching this film.

typical cult film in that there are appealing things about it but clear reasons why it isn't recognized in the mainstream cannon. some of them sensible ( reasons) , namely the glacial pace
