THE ITALIAN JOB (2003) (http://imdb.com/title/tt0317740/) - Caught this on cable TV the other night and enjoyed it. Heist films are one often good and simple and don't need all those CGI. This one falls into that catagory. These robbers use the most sophisicated technology to steal money. One band of thiefs go after the man who killed their mentor and also stole his gold bars. They device a major heist of gold bars that has already been stolen. One of the main features of this film is the mini cooper automobile that they modify to carry the gold.
(7 out of 10 Stars)  Now I have to see the original.

I just got done watching it a few minutes ago. Fun movie! It has Donald Sutherland too!
Yea, it was above average. I liked it.
I though it was very good too. Maybe it's because I'm not that fond of the original, save the mini action and the ending.
Yeah, I agree. I think the original film is vastly overrated. It makes it into top 100 lists in the UK a lot, which I think is ridiculous.
I actually enjoyed the remake marginally more. I'd give it a 6/10.
