I'm in New Orleans for the week for some training. I'll not be around as much, but will try to check in as possible.
Now, one night I am gonna eat me some mudbugs!
Well...I'm a Yankee. What's a mudbug?
Mudbugs=Crawfish. Some good eatin if you stay away from the farm raised ones.
Crawfish...of course! We got 'em around here too...I used to use them for catching snapping turtle! Never ate em though.

Are you man enough to suck the heads?
I lived in Louisiana for 13 years and never ate crawfish and never will, can't stand anything that still has the head attached.
Hello Andrew..........I dedicating my 5,000 post to you today.
Never been to New Orleans. I hear it's a very haunted place especially the old cemetary. The tombs are above ground due to the sea level down there.

Yes, but of course one of the GS workers providing the training I am attending has made sure to point out that doing so is no longer considered healthy. Why is it that anything that tastes good has to be unhealthy? Nobody every says "Well, eating plain Brussels sprouts is bad for you."
With me, if I am capable of ingesting it and it tastes good, the object in question is a goner.
Yes, Scott karma for you buddy!!
Thanks TrekGeezer and RCMerchant. I knew I still had some fans out there. :teddyr:
Andrew are you going to visit the cemetary in New Orleans?
Why are you in New Orleans? Are we going into Iran? You don't have to answer that.
I've not had time to visit the cemeteries, but I've been through parts of the city during previous visits. I did drive around a bit (and earned a nail in my tire from all the demolition and such) and this city is still a mess.
I'm just down here for some routine training. Administrative stuff, so nothing interesting.
My wife called me tonight and asked me what I was up to, my response of "Hookers and beer!" didn't seem to strike her as funny. Actually, I've been doing well at behaving. One of the other Marines is sporting a black eye. The young ones never know when to duck.
Wow, wish I had my Adventure Theater camera down there. Sounds like my kind of filmmaking.

Something I always advise young Marines is the following:
"You are going to do stupid things. I understand this. However, do not allow someone to film or photograph you doing stupid things. Remember this well, for it is wisdom."

just stay clear of the "Rising Sun" and you'll be fine ;-)
If you plan to do some sight seeing, check out Marie Laveau's grave (that is, if Katrina didnt mess it up too much). They say if you mark her tomb with three x's, she'll grant a wish.
