Title: Nudist Colony Of The Dead
Post by: Shaggs[Pl] on September 30, 2007, 12:59:06 PM
I saw it yesterday, and I have to admit, that I'm impressed.

'Judge Rhinehole orders the Sunny Buttocks Nudist Camp closed down as an affront to the community. The members of the camp enter into a suicide pact, but vow to return for vengeance. Five years later, a group of campers on a retreat argue with each other about religion and sing big production numbers as the group begins experiencing an attrition problem" - taken from IMDb.

Although it's the 90's movie, it keeps the 80's climate - especially songs. I'm suprised that main song wasn't played in any radio station. A lot of pop/rock bands would kill for such sound.  Another thing is humor - low-quality and extremely absurdly. Quotes as "Your a***oles are so tight you need a crowbar to help you s**t" will stay in my mind for a long time :D I didn't mentioned it but this flick is... a musical, so I have to say a few words about songs. Each song is huge injection  of retarded laughter - we've got: cop's rap song about zombies, song about morning that is so sweet that is pathetic, and some more. Some people see in this movie a typical cheese, but maybe I'm stupid because I see there perfectly shown madness of fanatics. First scene where Ms Luger says something like "If Jesus didn't like nudity he wouldn't create animals to cut them up and make furs" is (for me) wonderful example of hypocrisy. Killing is better than naked butt (I'm not animal liberation type, but I think that natural fur sucks). Maybe I'm overreacting and Mark Pirro didn't want to add anything serious. But in the world full of religious freaks, this parody seems so real oO

Indeed, Nudist Colony is a nice little flick that breaks up the monotony of run-of-the-mill bad movies. I did a review for it at tombofanubis.com (http://www.tombofanubis.com) a number of months ago and was surprised I'd never heard of it before then. The idea of a zombie horror comedy musical is the kind of thing you'd think Troma would've jumped all over to buy the DVD rights to, but so far there's no DVD to speak of. I think Pirro's stuff is all self-published. I was looking for a clip to attach to the review on YouTube and dug up an old Entertainment Tonight segment that covered the movie and was again surprised that I'd yet to hear about this flick before this year. Anyway, it's a good little flick if you can find it, though some of the song segments start to drag the movie near the latter half. Our site's considering selling copies of it if we ever get our DVD sales section up and running...

Bummer it doesn't show up on Netflix, I'm interested. The name sounds like something Troma would come up with.

And, a Boo for Shaggs linking to a page with a pic like tubgirl without some kind of warning.
