Have any of the rest of you heard of this?

No title is available yet, but there's a ton of viral marketing material out there as well as the teaser trailer linked above. I'm always up for a giant monster film!
Kindest regards,

Actually Kev...... this is sort of old news. The trailer for "Cloverfield" (a.k.a. "Monstrous," a.k.a. "01-18-07") appeared before "Transformers" during its initial theatrical run this past July. Tons of buzz was generated, and up until a month or two ago, everyone was talking about it, but expect things to pick up again in another month or so as we near January 18th. :teddyr:
Alas, since I did not see Transformers in the theater I am considerably behind. Am looking forward to this all the same.
Kindest regards,
Kevin P.

As am I. I just hope this isn't going to be a failed experiment that will break all of our monster-loving hearts. If "Clover-strous-18" (as I'm now calling it) sucks, I may very well turn become an alcoholic. :drink:
The word out now is that the full trailer for the film will be before Beowulf.
It will be a re-edited version of Dragon Wars. :drink:
AAARRRGGHHH!!
i am really eager to see these "monsters" he has in the film. One major/big moster and then little ones that are about human size......I'm skeptical due to the budget that arent going to show much more like a blair witch thing but we shall see.
You know, Nev, I thought the same thing, especially with a guy like Abrams on board. He liked to keep things so secretive.
This all makes me wonder how the hell he's going to hand The Dark Tower, since he's slated to do the movie/series/mini-series/unknown project/breakfast cereal for that.
NO WAY!REALLY??
geez,my baby sister loves that book series...i,personally,wasn't impressed with the books, but i DID think they'd make a very nice set of miniseries type stuff....if someone other than stephen has control,i have NOT been impressed with his"remake/original"stuff,like the shining...stinkburger!!!!!!!!!

I'm not a fan of lost, i've only seen one episode and thought it was pretty lame so i cant really judge his work. But just the wya they are marketing this, they seem to be blowing their whole load on these little internet gimmicks and in the end i feel like all the people (including me) who have tracked this movie in the begining will be dissapointed.

Stephen is pretty much in control, being as he would not even consider allowing the series to be made into any other kind of media unless they met his demands.
I just got back from Beowulf, and they did indeed have a trailer for the film of topic. And the official name is...
Cloverfield. As it turns out Abrams hid the name in plain sight, or so it seems. That was the name given at the end of the trailer.
thanks for the info, joe,i'll tell my sister he's in charge, she likes his stuff..we agree to disagree, lol!
so,how was the trailer?does it look any good?i wonder if it's on youtube yet...

what a riot! i watched them all, fell over laughing!!!
does anybody know if the release date is still the 18th of january? and is that release to theaters or straight to dvd?imdb doesn't like me today...
I predict we'll never get a better look at the monster than we do in the trailer. That's the kind of stupid crap Abrams seems to think is "clever", though I must admit it would make sense in light of the POV nature of the film.
As long as Cloverfield is only 90 minutes or less, it couldn't be all that bad. If it's any longer, the shaky cam will really start to bother me.
I'll be waiting for Cloverfield to hit the $1.00 theater, so I won't feel so bad if I walk out on it. (I haven't liked any of Abrams' stuff.)
sweet they show the same damn trailer with 10 seconds of extra footage!!!
