For such a popular DC flagship character who's been "over" for decades, Batman sure gets stuck in some cheezy storylines from time to time (Batman '66, Batman Forever, and Batman and Robin).
I would have thought that my favorite super hero vrs my favorite vampire would be a great story but something about it just doesn't fit. I mean, the story isn't actually bad; I give them credit for making it better than I thought possible, they still mischaracterize some of our favorite Batman villains IMO (although that's "The Batman" as a whole and not necessarliy just this movie). Still, you can't help but think of "B-movie" when you hear Batman and Dracula in the same title. When I noticed this VHS in the $1 bin I had to have it.
A full review of this will come eventually...but for now...a few notes:
* when did the Penguin learn the Matrix-style martial arts?!
* wtf is up with the Joker and his dreads?!
* hordes of undead lurking the streets of Gotham and not a single person dies?
it's a great title for a movie, but this show itself pales in comparison to the earlier animated Batman series. i watched an episode where he teams with Superman, and they have turned Superman into the maladjusted loner and Batman is now the team player.
weak. i also really dislike "THE" Batman in the title.
