In the past, I've been a member of a forum that had a chat applet where members could text/type in real time and discuss whatever. I was wondering if that was possible (and easy) for us to have such a thing so that we could possibly schedule actual bad movie screenings and chat with one another while we watch them.
For example, say we make a schedule for a given Saturday night at 7PM (just an example) where members could log into the chat applet-thingy and start, say, Friday the 13th part 3 at the same time so we could rib on it all the way through.
Heck, microphone support would be kick ass for some real ribbing. I remember that one of my roomies had some kind of teamspeak program that he used to talk in real time to his video game buddies while playing Everquest and I was thinking something like that for the site would just plain rule. Maybe a mix of chat/mic/vid broadcast would be possible. I mean, wouldn't that be cool if we could somehow broadcast bad movies on a given schedule somehow (w/o violating any copyright of course). I remember seeing chat programs where people could broadcast movies/sound over a web cam (via a program called splitcam) and others could type/talk/etc.,
I dunno, just some ideas floating in my head. Input anyone?
Mortal...
I totally agree with everything you've said.
Believe me, we've tried it before.
Problem is...in all of the time I've spent here it's never taken off.
It should've...given the nature of our topics...but nope...it hasn't. :bluesad:
This community here has grown to be pretty darn big.
Who knows?
Maybe now is the right time for it.
I'm always down for a central chat section that includes video and mics!
