Have you seen this?
It is a very funny and amusing short film from J. Stuart Blackton.
The entire public domain film can be found at http://www.archive.org/details/princess_nicotine_1909.
A part of what's fun about Princess Nicotine today is to watch and try to figure out how the amazing shots were created while limited to early cinematic technology.
I hope this great film is released on DVD.
As of right now, there is no DVD release of this film.

Nice find! Makes you wonder if that was tobacco he was smoking, or something else. I would welcome a collection of these sorts of silent shorts as well.
This short is included on the four dvd set Treasures From American Film Archives .
This set was OOP and was fetching close to a thousand bucks on E-Bay a few years ago, but Image rereleased it and now you can find copies for about 40 bucks.
There was a follow-up titled More Treasures From American Film Archives. Both are worth owning if you love early/obscure cinema!
My favorite film included on these sets?
GUS VISSER AND HIS SINGING DUCK (1925), of course!

Image also release a couple of multi-disc sets titled The Origins of Film which are quite cool, too. The Origins of Fantasy Films and The Origins of Animation are especially good!
