I watched this last night and I must say it was better than I expected - a Genius Production distributed by Anchor Bay Entertainment, it features some college kids, two of whom are cousins, going up to a house out in the desert that belonged to the great-grandfather of the two cousins, who struck a huge gold vein there in the 1800's and is rumored to have buried his first wife alive.
You've got a creepy caretake played by the same actor who was Jigsaw in the SAW movies, two bimbos being initiated into a sorority, two disposable male friends who get the axe - literally - a moderate sprinkling of nudity, and some pretty fake looking CGI violence. The ghostly old woman stalking the crew is spooky enough, and the ending is genuinely creepy.
All in all, worth the rental fee, especially if all the good movies are checked out . . .
I have yet to see this but Genius Entertainment has put out some great genre films lately. In the last couple of weeks, I've seen both Severance and Murder Party and both of those are near perfect.
It used to be Anchor Bay and Lions Gate that put out great horror flicks. Sadly that's not very true any more.
