My favorite villain is and probably always will be the Joker, but recently, I've been getting into Darkseid, one of Superman's tougher enemies. I guess I just like seeing someone slap Supes around hehe. Really though, I find the whole New Gods war pretty interesting. It's making me buy comics again, which isn't a habit I want to get into really.
Seems that after a good decade of being into X-men and related stuff, I'm switching channels for a bit and getting into DC again. I'm not one of those either-or types; I like them both, but I think I've just been spent on Marvel for a little while...but I'm sure I'll be back to that soon.
What villains are you into and why?
I'm not huge into comics but I'd have to say Batman's villains are my favorite;
1.) The Joker because the whole sadistic humor thing going on.
2.) Bane-he actually defeated Batman in a cold and calculating way
The RED SKULL!!!
My top 3:
1.) Joker- Looking all dapper in his purple overcoat, the clown takes to the night and commits evil acts.
2.) Venom/Carnage- Not sure which I wanted to go with here. Both are sick.
3.) The Shredder- Shredder's underrated. Very much so.
Hmmm, these probably don't really count as villains. But it's the best I can come up with, since I'm not really into the Marvel-Universe:
1.) The Saint of Killers - His overall character and motivations might not be that imaginative, but his determinateness is impressive
2.) Moe
Carnage - slaughtered hundreds of people by himself,keeps coming back.
Bullseye - deadly accuracy with anything as a weapon,unbreakable spine.
Galactus - the power.
Dr. Doom - still let`s nothing try to get in his way of world domination.
Mystique - sex appeal, and shapeshifting is sweet.
DOCTOR DOOM. Greatest adversary of the Fantastic Four. A very powerful threat to any hero or team of heroes.
DARKSEID: Yeah another very powerful villain. Tend to prefer villains this way. Seemingly unstoppable.
THE LIZARD: Crafty and vicious combined. A frightful threat. There's also the horror trappings of the character.
KRAVEN THE HUNTER: another great Spidey villain who you always wondered whether he might not just get the best of Peter Parker.
GREEN GOBLIN: Another great Spidey villain with Horror trappings again.
THE SCARECROW: Again I like the horror trappings of the character.
MR. FREEZE: the way he was done in "Batman: The Animated Series" ws awesome.

I've always liked Spiderman badies (Green Goblin, Doc Oc, Venom, and Carnage) but I'd have to say my favorite rogue's gallery has to be Batman's. Joker's right at the top but I also like Ras Al Ghul, Poison Ivy (not the movie version), Bane (as mentioned before -he's hardcore), Mad Hatter, Riddler, Scarecrow (although they could write him better than a one-trick pony), and let's not forget Two-Face. I think I like that most of his villains are not super-powered and most have some extreme mental disorder, which in some cases makes them slightly sympathetic.
Superman, although I think he's too much of a boy scout for my tastes, has an interesting rogue's gallery as well. I have a lot of respect for Luthor considering he's a big thorn in Supe's side and he's just a normal guy (a rich, intelligent, and motivated evil guy). And as already mentioned, I like Darkseid a lot - something about a god-like being slapping Supes around is very appealing. Brainiac is kickass -always loved mega-computers gone wild.
And after years of being an X-Men fan, I have to list my favs from that: Apocalpyse, Sinister, Magneto, Sentinals/Mastermold, Jauggernaut, and the White Queen. Mystique, as mentioned, is kick ass as well.
No question. My favorite comic book villain is Superman's chief rival, Lex Luthor.
I have a weakness for The Dread Dormammu, I must admit. Just because I love that period of artwork in Dr. Strange, and I love the language and the over-floweriness of it all. Crimson Bands of Cyttorak this and bolts of bedevilment that. I spent a whole summer sitting in the Michigan State Library's special collections department, reading old Dr. Stranges three at a time. Those were good times.
I enjoyed watching the Burning Man b***h-slap the JLA around in "Trial by Fire."
My favorite, though, is Miller's version of the Joker, because he evokes the best in the Batman. ("I've always known, Joker, that there's nothing wrong with you that I can't fix... with my hands.")
I also like:
Mr. Sinister
and:
The Riddler
I know I already posted the RED SKULL-but I got to thinking...who came first? the Red Skull...

...or the Crimson Ghost of the old serial?

Another cool one...P'Gell-of the SPIRIT
(http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l79/RCMerchant/spiritpgell02a.jpg)
..and Hitler! Think about it. Hitler is in a lotta comics!

Probobly the most interesting villian of all time is Two-Face. Hes so conflicted! its great!

Joker
Lex Luthor for being a total dick. Especially when he started that everyman project.
Back in the days, I liked Venom when he first debuted. Especially when he pushed Peter Parker off the subway platform (Peter couldn't dedect him with his spider-senses)
Last and not least, Savage Dragon's Dung (You figure out what powers he has).

Give this man a Karma point.
I think my favorite is probably Evil Ernie. Now there's a VILLAIN. Although, I haven't read any of the newer series (Evil In Santa Fe, I think it's called)
El Cheapo from Stripperella.
Does that count? :bouncegiggle:

Rulk. A Red Hulk. Kinda stronger than Green Hulk, and the opposite, as he's bad, not good. Or however that works.
Scarecrow and the Joker, though right now I'm kind of burned out on the Joker. I like Batman's entire rogue's gallery, but these two really stand out for me for some reason.
The Wizard from JONAH HEX: TWO GUN MOJO.
Adrian Veidt/Ozymandias from WATCHMEN (I modeled a villain off him for an RPG campaign I ran, which proved so memorable that even now, almost a year after the campaign concluded, my players still curse and spit when they hear the villain's name)
Batroc zee Leaper because of his chessy Frenchness..

Ra's Al Ghul

Put me down for the Joker. He can best summed up in this way: He is a homicidal and crazy monster of a person, who sometimes you can't help but laugh with him a lot of the time.
QuoteRulk. A Red Hulk. Kinda stronger than Green Hulk, and the opposite, as he's bad, not good. Or however that works.
While I find Rulk to be hilarious at times, I also think he's one of the most ridiculous characters ever created in any medium. So yeah, I guess I have mixed feelings about him. Some of the things that happen with him I can't believe are canon. Like punching Uatu. :teddyr:
Here's one I like just because his ability makes absolutely no sense at all.
The Turtle. He's a Flash villain. You know, the guy who can run like, the speed of light? The Turtle is a villain whose ability is strategic slowness. Yeah.
A few other faves:
The Leader - Hulk villain who had his mind enhanced by gamma radiation but not his puny body.
MODOK - bizarre Iron Man villain
Ultron - another great Iron Man villain
Despero - bizarre powerful pink skinned three eyed cyclops style alien who frequently tackled with he entire Justice League of America back in the day.
Elektro - always liked him...not really sure why. Same with fellow Spidey villains The Vulture, The Shocker and The Scorpion. Think I liked Spidey's rogue gallery best of them all.
I really like Bane, and Dr. Doom. Dr. Doom has such interesting treatments. He's eeeeviiilll but I think if one much toil under an overlord, he'd be an OK one.
Bane isn't a bad fellow all in all. Sort of a misplaced superhero of given the chance,
My third place villain is Sabretooth. Just sheer nastiness there,
-Ed
In no particular order:
* Red Skull
* Dr. Doom
* Green Goblin
* Galactus
* Mandarin
* Sand Man
* Absorbing Man
* Joker
* Solomon Grundy

WOOOOOOOOOOOO! Where idi You find THAT? She's so :hot: :hot: :hot:
She might not be very bad and I doubt she's canonic, but . . . Ink in the Batman animated serial. She was a great drawn character, but I think they never reveald it's full potential.
