Title: Facial Hair
Post by: Mr. DS on December 02, 2007, 04:33:05 PM
How many of you guys (I hope theres no women with facial hair on this board) have facial hair?  I've hardly been without facial hair since my teen years.  Right now I voted for mustahce and goatee.

I voted goatee only by accident.  Should be mustache and goatee.  I did have a partial beard going on as well but recently shaved it as my wife commented that I always looked like I was ready to hijack a plane:

I shaved it off and went back to just a 'stache and goatee.  This photo was taken about a week ago or so:

I choose 'other' as I do have eyebrows, I'm bald and proud of it but my facial hair changes with the tide, currently I'm just sporting eyebrows and lashes, but sometimes I look like my avatar.

I'm clean shaven...but my eyebrows in my later years have gone weird and have taken on a life of their own.

I have a 5 o' clock shadow and prefer the "rugged" look.

It takes a good week to fully come in and I leave it until it gets too shaggy.
Then I shave it all off.
I've tried the full beard and mustache look but it never looked good to me.

And I even tried the goatee thing but since my goatee comes in red (my Irish side) and all the rest of the hair on my face is dark brown, it looked kinda weird.

Speaking of which, I need to shave tonight before bed.

Wasn't quite thinking of eyebrows/lashes when I started the poll but while we're on the subject, I usually have to keep my trimmed in the middle to prevent me looking like Bert from Sesame Street.

I have had the same goatee since I was about 17. I shaved it off once a couple of years back, and my kids cried and ran away when I came near them. I guess that means I look like a monster without facial hair. :buggedout:

I've been living off the fat of the land for a year now and in that time I've been allowed to let my mane grow full and free. I actually buzzed it back in March or February in order to meet my fiancee's aunt for the first time, but it's had free reign of my face since. Kinda scary. Kids point at me and say "Santa!" a lot lately.

Facial hair has been pretty stable at mustache and goatee for a while now, but has varied between Col. Sanders goatee, regular goatee and full beard over the years. Used to also do a mustache once in a while, but mustaches picked up gay connotations somewhere.

My head is clean shaven daily. Was bald off and on from 1993 to around 1998, then made a commitment. Used to tolerate a bit of stubble up top, but now I figure it's gotta be smooth.

Seems like there are a few baldies on the board these days. I'm curious to know how many.

I shave my facial hair all off in addition to all of the hair on my head.

I'm as clean shaven as Mr. Clean.

No pictures I'm afraid, so you'll just have to trust me, when I say I have sideburns down to my lower jawbone.

I shave my facial hair all off in addition to all of the hair on my head.

I'm as clean shaven as Mr. Clean.

Never would have guessed until you mentioned it recently. The picture of Torgo misled me.

Then again, my current avatar is no less misleading.

Ironically enough, my Dolph Lundgren avatar actually mimics my current hair situation to an extent. Go figure.

Well, if we count eyebrows...

This is my favorite picture of me because it is such a bad picture of me.  It's not as obvious in this version, but besides the monobrow, my eyebrows also somewhat fade into my beard.  As in the outside edge of my eyebrows, if left well enough alone, would cross my cheekbones and become part of my beard.  Also, the outer edges of my eyebrows would also snake their way into the hair at my temples.

Basically, I'm just a couple unshaven weeks on my way to ewok.

Also, it is now a regular occurence that my barber will shave the hair off the outer edges of my ears.  Funny thing is, the rest of me isn't that hairy.  Great what age will do to you, and I'm not even that old yet.

Currently, I have a full beard thing going on, but, as I always say on auditions, I'll happily cut it all off if there's any money involved for the part!!

Clean shaven most of the time, some times I let it go for about three days, but not much.

Had a 'stache and goatee this summer, the first one I've had in years. It looked better than the last few times (I'm convinced it's why a girl at work asked me out), but got sick of it when I had to start trimming it because of food getting in it when I'd eat.

I may try one again after the first of the year, I can't do a good full beard (too patchy along my jawline, 'stache and goatee don't actually connect), and just the mustache looks goofy on me.

I just got back from my little side holiday, and as a test I didn't shave for the entire three weeks I was away.

It didn't really achieve anything.  Seems I'm not the extreme hair growing type: it was a bit patchy here and there, but not that thick.  Overall a decent effort considering I didn't think much would happen in the first place.

Yes, I can go quite a few days without a shave, and still look respectable.  Three weeks looked manky, but not horribly hairy.  Go figure.

From November to March or April I have a full beard as it helps me to stay warm in this Pennsylvaina weather. The rest of the time I keep a full mustache and constant hair growth on my face...every other week I will trim it down so it doesn't become too long but I don't like to be clean shaven. Not much hair up on top either...just the sides and some of the back and I keep that cut short.

I've had a mustache off and on since high school, I hate to shave but could never stand the way I looked as a beard was growing in so I never went more than 3-4 days without shaving. Several years ago I began taking a blood thinning medication, this made me bleed like a stuck pig if I nicked myself so I now have a beard and mustache. They make up for the hair that has left the top of my head.

I usually shave every three or four days which includes my head as I'm balding and just shave it all off. Its get to a 5 o clock shadow by the fourth day and my hair get stubby looking. I don't like when it starts getting like that because my faces itchs and my hair looks like it is balding as the top has very light hair compared to the sides that looks very dark.
