I apologize for the very looooooooong list.  I just wanted to know you thoughts and opinions about it and which of these movies you want to drop everything to see.  And I wanted to post this on the Press & Release section but it didn't have the poll option.  For further info on the movies, go to http://www.wizarduniverse.com (I hope I got the link right)

Again I apologize.  I put down pick 20 out of the list but something got mixed up and you can only pick one so, once again, I'm sorry.  You can still put your opinion, even say I'm an idiot.  So enjoy. :smile:

I choose the Mummy part 3.  Really enjoyed the first two, can't wait to see the next one.

Looks like it's another year of remakes and video games.  Good Grief, Conan?  Present-day Hollywood couldn't get within 100 miles of that movie. 

Wonder Woman might be worth picking up on DVD just to check out the costume. 

Never thought I'd say this, but I couldn't care less about the latest Alien movie.  Congratulations Hollywood, you've taken two magnificent franchises and reduced them down to the level of all your other drek.

I picked Smurfs.

Christ.  That is an awful lot of comic book movies.  I know more than few of those titles have been pulled, though.  Castlevania is on hold at the moment and stuff like Metal Gear and Kane and Lynch may never even get made.

Red State probably won't be released until 2009.  Zack And Miri Make A Porno isn't on the list, though, and that's happening for sure later next year.

Is this list restricted to sequels, based on comics and remakes? No original material anymore? That's sad...

Watchmen might be interesting. However, I don't want to think about the remakes of some of the classics. Can't imagine what someone would add to movies like Logan's Run or Tron??

One last thing: I will actually try and physically hurt anyone messing around with Clash of the Titans! You hear me? DO NOT MESS WITH THIS MOVIE!!!

I only picked the ones I know something about and have been following.

I would answer "none of the above" if that was a choice.  I never pick movies to see based on actor, director, subject matter, advance buzz, or the fact that it's a sequel to or adaptation of something I liked.  That way leads to perpetual disappointment.  I'll wait until the reviews are out, and/or I hear good word of mouth from someone I trust.

But I agree with Jack and Frank.  Only sequels and adaptations of comic books and TV shows?  The major studios appear to have gone ultra-conservative, greenlighting only projects they think have built-in audiences.  I'm sure they're not planning to take major narrative risks with that material.  Being a Hollywood screenwriter trying to pitch original screenplays in Hollywood in the 2000s must be a depressing existence.       

I saw Toy Story 3 and checked out what it was about.  Apparently Buzz Lightyears are getting recalled.  To me thats pretty funny.

Sounds funny.  I hope they make it.  I'm a big fan of the first two. 

I think it's sad when about half of the things I watch are cartoons, but sadly, most live action things don't interest me. 

This just shows how desperate Hollywood is getting, their remaking Barbarella!
If that does say anything, I don't know what can.

More remakes?! I look at all the films that are coming out in 2008, and I see how many of them are remakes of earlier films, and I think I'm going to get sick.

The 300 ripoff looks like it could either be hilarious . . . .


or a total train wreck!!

Nope. No script, no cast, no director, no...anything at this point. A lot of the movies on the list (sequels mostly) won't see light of day until 2009...maybe even the year after.

wow they're finally making the Watchmen.

THe only one out of the list that has my attention is Bond 22.  Casino Royale was awesome, but the other films I am not sure about.

I know I could've just listed the ones that were coming out in 2008, but once I started I felt like I should keep going.  These are all tentative dates I got from IMDB.

Big lists make me sad...  I feel so lazy today.  Nevertheless, I hope to see alot of them next year [and beyond]...

Out of next year's releases I'd like to see The Happening, Prince Caspian, Cloverfield, and The X-Files 2.  Out of the rest I guess it would be Tron, The Hobbit, The Illustrated Man, the other Narnia flick, and I sort want to see if they screw up Escape from New York.

I'm looking forward to the X-Men one, especially if it's Wolverine heavy.

But I've been saying for years that there's no such thing as an original idea any more.  Especially in Hollywood.

I'd love to see the new Hellboy movie.  Does anyone know the storyline?  Ron Perlman does a cracker of a job in this character.

As for Hellboy 1, did David Hyde Pierce (Niles from Frasier) do the voice of Abe Sapien?  Another actor is mentioned in the credits, but his voice is uncannily like DHP's.

Like I said, I made a few my computer messed up while I compiled all this stuff and I was a little tired.  The title was not suppose to be up there.  Karma to Pilgermann for the help out.

I know everyone's getting sick of comic book movies, but I'm excited about Iron Man, who's been a favorite of mine since I was younger.  I really hope it's as good as the advance buzz is making it out to be. 

Very optimistic to post all of these in the Good Movies section btw BlackAngel75  :tongueout:
