Title: Automan

I remember this short-lived super duper graphics action show from the youth days.  A guy/superhero who could turn into a car!

No wonder it didn't last long lol.

I liked this show when it first ran in the 1983-84 tv season.  Desi Arnaz plays the police computer geek who accidently creates Automan. Automan had a side kick called Cursor who could make just about anything. Autocar, Autohelicopter, whatever was needed

The show had good effects for the time when it was made and it had a sorta silly charm to it (especially Automan having to deal with the perplexities of human beings).

Two episodes stick out in my memory, one where our hero becomes Dirty Otto, and one which guest starred singer Laura Brannigan (she was hot).

I tried to watch the show a few years back when SciFi ran it, but it had lost a lot of the charm I remembered it having.

Even as a kid (I was four or five when it came out), I thought Automan was boring.  Automan was invincible.  None of the generic bad guys of the day even came close to putting up a fight (that I remember).
