Title: Some sci-fi about UFO's on the bottom of the ocean...
Post by: Flemming on December 30, 2007, 05:51:20 AM
As a kid i saw a sci-fi lowbudget (color)movie about some evil menace society (aliens?) who had their UFO-(pyramid?)base on the bottom of the ocean (Bermuda Triangle, I think...) At some point in the movie they begin to attack the humans with some rays that make people kill each other (maybe even commit suicide?)
As i remember it, the first part of the movie was typical b-movie stuff with cheesy UFO action and (as I recall) a US agent trying to stop the aliens plans. The second part of the movie where the killing/suicide of ordinary people takes place, the movie gets very bloody, unpleasant and doomsday-like.... at least to a 8 year old
My guess is that is was made around late 60's/start 70's.

I just can't remember the title...

This film seems like a good candidate:

Thanks for the quick replay, but sadly, this isn't the one... In the movie I think of, the underwater element is not a large part of the movie. In fact, I only think it shows a UFO landing and leaving the underwater headquarter once i a while. Most of the movie take place on land and in the air. I think that the Bermuda Triangle and the pyramid (on the bottom of the ocean) gave power to the deadly (radio?)rays, that made people kill each other... maybe the movie had some sort of government conspiracy/illumanti theme, but I'm not sure... I don't think that the aliens look strange, but that they looked like normal people...

Wait a minute.  This was not so much a Bermuda Triangle flick as a silly alien invasion film, right?

"Starship Invasions"

Wow, yes this must be the one! I'm surprised it's from 1977, because I thought it was a late 60's kind of movie. Thanks for the help! I have to see it again...... I think

Andrew, thanks for the link! This was the part I was talking about eariler today:

"On the surface of the planet, everyone starts killing each other.  (Or rather, a crudely filmed electrical arc is superimposed between the saucer and Earth.  And on in a parking lot, a we are shown a single, isolated incident of a man going on a shooting spree with a .45 automatic, and then he turns it on himself.  There.  About four down, only a few billion to go.  They should have the whole human race exterminated real soon - roughly by the time our sun goes red giant.)"

Thanks for finding this "gem" of a movie!
