I have this buddy whos recently been getting into zombies, dig? He watched The original "DAWN OF THE DEAD" and the remake and now he reads the zombie survival handbook, plays Dead Rising on his X-box, the whole shibang. So I says, "Dude, check out Dead Alive! It rules!" So Were watching it, and were not even to the cemetary scene yet and he says, "Im getting tired. I think im gonna go home." And Im like "Why?" and he tells me that in dawn of the dead, the zombie action starts right up from the beginning, and here in dead alive, the un-dead goodness is taking to long. So basicly, by watching DAWN OF THE DEAD as his first zombie movie, hes going to expect all zombie movies to be that quick, making it hard for me to keep his intrest alive.
Shame. Bloody shame.
Introduce him to "Shaun of the Dead"
Those darn kids today with their iPods and their ADD!
Bloody shame.
My first zombie flick was like, in 1993. I was 8 and saw Night of The Living Dead on MonsterVision. Good stuff.
That's classic right there.
give him a good dose of Return Of the Living Dead.

Ya know, I tried to show him that, but our other friend who was with us was like, "That movie is so STUPID. You dont wanna see that one, man." And he talk my zombie friend out of seeing it.
Again, shame.
WHAT A FOOL! thats some good stuff right there, what a jerk. there are alot of zombie films but not so many good ones. hmmmm how about Undead? if its in your face zombie action let em watch that, i mean if you can deal with the austrailian accent (which im sure is alright if you guys were watching dead alive, which i cant BELIVE he didnt like!)
maybe he was high.

That sounds good. I was also thinking of buying "Zombi 2" or "Cemetery Man" and showing him those.
Next time that he is over just start playing the movie from where he left off. Leave the TV on the background if he's into zombies he'll notice the action.
Zombies are overrated. You should get him into something rare, like Golems.
Wanna really blow his mind...show him BURIAL GROUND! Never a dull moment! And it's got every bodys favorite 30 year old kid...Micheal!!!!

Instead of a bum, which is what he is.
What really seems to get people excited about zombie movies is thinking that they might make one themselves some day.

Indeed! That film doesn't waste any time in getting to the zombie action.
Your... your friend walked out of Braindead/Dead Alive!?!?!?
God... damn. Seriously, and I never type or say that.
Wait, did you show him the unrated version? The one I saw (and this is in Aussieland, mind you) had a guy get chopped up less than two minutes in. Well... if he wants zombies, just show him 28 Weeks Later to freak him out. :tongueout:
Or you could always skip to the money shots in Dead Alive.

No way, man! I shoed him the naughty gory nice n' bloody unrated one! He liked 28 days, maybe ill show him 28 weeks, although I hear its not as good as days.
Show him Poultrygeist, if and when that hits dvd.
Apparently it's supposed to be good.
So, 28 Weeks Later? No, it isn't as good as the first, but I think it's a pretty worthy follow-up. It's definately worth watching.
I got him to watch the entirety of DEADALIVE and now he really likes it. I showed him RETURNOFTHELIVINGDEAD as well, and he said it was ok, but he didnt even watch the whole thing.
It kinda sounds like he likes the original Romero zombie universe. Has he checked out the other Romero Zombie flicks yet, Day of the Dead and Land of the Dead?
On side note World War Z is slated to come out this year adding to our zombie movie list. I need to read that book before the movie comes out.

He...he didn't sit through all of RETURN of the LIVING DEAD?!?!? :bluesad: Is he MAD?!?!?! That's zombie overkill!!! Not mealy, oatmeal faced Italian types either!!!
Ferget it! No hope for the guy. He's waaaaaaaay to picky. Zombie love must include all of the Gawds undead creatures...from Romero to Fulci...even cheezy Dr.BUTCHER's goofy minions. Give'em a carrot stick and send him home. Save the chitlens for True Believers!

I just started reading World War Z. I really like how he figured out to spread the plague. I never would have thought of that, but entirely plausible right before the major outbreak. I am going to enjoy this book.
